We will open on the 20th April 2021. Peters Spares Model Railways Ltd team have been working safely in the background getting all your parcels to you and operating a click & collect service on selected days. We will of course continue to do this as it is the safest way. If you can please order online and we can get your items ready for you minimising any contact. Click & Collect Will operate Tuesday to Friday 10am - 5pm (Please await your email to say the collection is ready not the ‘order confirmed’ email. This just means we have your order in the queue to process.) Due to the increase of mail orders, we have taken on two new staff and we are training them for our goods in and mail order departments. We are also planning a new till system with a much more functional website (eta 2-3 months). This does all take time to do so we have decided to postpone opening the retail store until Tuesday the 20th April and we will be letting customers back into the whole store. We will operate a traffic light system at the door and a one-way system with social distancing so we can limit the number of customers inside to four. (We would therefore prefer customers to shop alone if possible). We have installed a large screen at our counter for extra safety. Our new temporary opening hours from 20th April: Tuesday – Friday 10am - 5pm Click & Collect Will operate Tuesday to Friday 10am - 5pm Our phone system will also be going live again with limited hours from 20th April: Tuesday – Friday 2pm-5pm (If we can open them sooner, we will but this is staff dependant as we can’t get any more staff in the buildings and social distance.) This will continue until there are further government changes of advice or more staff availability. Thanks Peter

Our Wheels have arrived.

Our Lima wheels have been signed off so they are now in full production. We expeditor due to Chinese New Year this month they may take 1-2 months to arrive. They will be blackened. Thanks Peter

We are still working on the Drive and Dummy bogie wheels in fact the last sample landed a week ago. Things are happening slower with Coronavirus taking up all the tooling companies for PPE. Keep an eye on the website for them and soon to arrive are more Lima wagon wheels 3 hole and 8 spoked. Thanks Peter

We ordered 100 and were cut back like all retailers were. Our order went down to 80. We have raised the price in line with the market value and to stop customers buying 10 or 20 and selling them on as we have had happen for a few years now. Hi everyone, I would just like to comment on the mention 'However it'll probably be a waste of time as they pass all spares responsibility on to Peters Spares.' This is incorrect information. Hornby supply a spares list to any and all shops that wish to purchase some. If they are available or available to order parts can be purchased by anyone. We DO NOT get all the spares passed to us. Hi there, As of the 1st September Royal Mail have seriously increased shipping due to the lack of passenger planes in the air. We had already started sending items at a loss but it couldn’t continue so we have updated shipping to reflect their changes. Until COVID-19 stops affecting the world and travel / shipping it won't come down. We can't individually quote postage as we are charged based on an average of all parcels going overseas on each day. Thank for your reply if you do email I can look into your order. I had to explain our position as internet lounge in cheek moments can ruin hard worked reputations. Naming places as sluggish could deter people using us again. Thanks Peter

Hi there, if you can give me your details (preferably direct to sales@petersspares.com) I can look into your order. To clarify your 'sluggish' remark: For staff safety I have had to close the store and phone lines and send 4 out of the 7 staff home leaving me and two packers. This in itself has slowed us down and also everyone is at home doing mail orders so we have more than double the orders to ship while short staffed. As of today we have only had 2-3 days in 2.5 weeks where some post went a day latter than normal. Thanks Peter

Hi there, I think 'didn't want to know' is a bit strong. We can't get parts and have never taken this new model apart so would not want to take on a job that could get worse rather than better. We were honest about this over the phone! Thanks Peter
