  1. Published on Spielwarrenmesse, the Nuremberg Toy Fair site. Some musings on UK market too. https://www.spielwarenmesse.de/magazine/article-detail/modellbahner-werben-um-neue-kunden/language/1/
  2. Put an order in to Bachmann service centre and they will be able to get a support leg you could glue into place. May need to send a picture so they get the right part.
  3. It should be fine to use this on a modern layout. Just set to it with some paints for that extra derelict feel and maybe chip the edges a bit. Here are some images, kindly provided by Bachmann from a site visit, that show the tower in it's modern condition. Note here the missing stair treads, shrub growing up by the jigger feeders, ivy up the legs, the derelict control cabins and chipped concrete edges. Here also the lifting cradle, covered in lichen and track now permanently ballasted in. On a modern layout, it makes a good storage area for your steam day special and appropriate coaches.
  4. Hi Darren Is 44-048 Coaling stage with water tank 15.8 x 8.8 any good as a small Didcot type coaler. Has a tipping ramp on it. A full Didcot sized item would be much more expensive of course.
  5. With it bit of modellers ingenuity it should be quite easy to adapt. The large canopy is open and the model is hollow inside. The rails and lifting cradle could be parted from the model with fine saws and cutters and replaced with a working mechanism, hiding the motor and gears up inside the canopy.
  6. On the Bachmann homepage, details of the new Coaling Tower http://www.Bachmann.co.uk/ There are 2 fully coloured 3d model pictures showing the various ladders and railings, and two of the master sculpture before first moulding. Due to arrive in 2nd Quarter.
