  1. If the temperature changes much where your track is you may experience expansion/contraction at the joints depending on the length of rail. If so just glue the fishplates to one rail only or they may come unstuck. We found this by experience building a layout in a club room then going to exhibitions where it can get very hot!
  2. Hi, Is you excellent Lydbrook Dean going to be at the Nailsea Show this weekend please? Their show guide lists your Tiverton!

Yes it's Lydbrook Dean. When I first spoke to them I was exhibiting Yelverton and they asked for that but by that time I was already working on the idea for Lydbrook Dean so I offered that instead hence the confusion 8n the exhibition guide.

Do make your self known if you get there.

      Best wishes

Hi, thanks for the confirmation, I will certainly say hello! I followed your build on RM Web and admired the photos on FB GWR Modelling, its very inspirational!

  3. Hi Wayne, I see you plan to produce an A6 turnout in P4, do you plan to produce an A6 in EM and 00 please?
  4. Hi, I recently obtained a nicely completed 4mm scale model of the Wills/SE Finecast 1854 pannier tank. I have two photos (one is in GWRJ 66) of the real locos showing the tops of the boilers which show a slight hump in the cladding over the boiler and raised area above the firebox relative to the tops of the pannier tanks. The smokebox is also raised. I also have a copy of the excellent instructions for the Martin Finney 1854/1701 etched kit which has information and parts to produce the above raised areas. I have no doubt that Martin Finneys instructions and kit are prototypically correct as per my photos. References to boilers and tanks in RCTS Part 5 suggest this is also correct. However, on my Wills / SE Finecast kit apart from a nominal hump over the smokebox, it is flat on top of the panniers without raised sections over boiler/firebox, so is this actually prototypically correct or an error which I will need to address?

Looking forward to seeing Dunvant the Cardiff 4mm Group's EM layout complete with the superb LNWR rolling stock by Sandy Croall usually seen on his own layout Penlan.
