  1. Just reading through this thread, i may well have missed a fix for these signals. We have 2 on our club layout that have failed, with the led coming on for a second then nothing. Im guessing that its the circuit board? any ideas or do we just get them replaced? Cheers Kevin
  2. yes its an online model shop selling small detailing kits and accessories www.northwesternmodels.co.uk
  3. Morning all, I know its been a while since the last update on the layout, sadly been very busy with other things. However, we're excited currently with our own model shop developments as we have recently won a small business award from none other than Dragons' Den star, Theo Paphitis! We got to meet him in person to collect our award and to chat to fellow Dragon, Deborah Meaden on the day as she was one of the guest speakers at the event in Birmingham. Plenty of exciting times ahead now that we're in Mr Paphitis' inner circle of business... Here we both are collecting our award from Theo Paphitis. I am on the left whilst Christopher, my business partner for the model shop, is on the right. In further news i am intending on selling this layout, as im ready to start a new industrial layout. I have one last show with this layout just before Easter. If anyone is interested in buying the layout please send me a private message. The sale is for the layout only, so no stock, lights or controllers will be included. Cheers Kevin

  7. As its been a little while since our last update on Rhyn Exchange, i think its about time to lets tell you whats new we have built a small signal box "Wills kit" this has been painted in the old GW colours and then weathered we have also made a good start on the small amount of landscaping which has been made up from polystyrene sheets cut and glued in place, a layer of plaster bandage has then been applied prior to painting it an earthy brown colour and then covering it with the first layer of static grass. a start has been made on mocking up the canal over bridge for the scenic break, I'm hoping to progress this further over the next few weeks, ive also made good progress kit bashing a "knightwing" air reservoir tank turning it into an industrial water tank. in the mean time we have been playing trains shunting various wagons into numerous formations The 03 Sits ready for the next shunt Wagons all lined up for shunting view of the yard from the other side Happy Modelling Kevin

  10. Time for an update on the latest happenings at Shunters MPD: well we have a couple of new locomotives a repainted Hornby pug named Stormer and an Andrew Barclay 040 saddle tank built from the ARC Models kits onto a Hornby Pug chassis The layout recently attended the Leigh model railway show where these two locos made their debut, the barclay still requires further detailing work but performed brilliantly over the two days and was very well received. over the weekend, sadly I noticed that some of the older 2nd hand points were starting to show their age as such I'm are planning to relay them with new ones over the coming few weeks, i hope to post photos of this over the coming few weeks below are a few photos from the weekend: hope to update you all soon Happy Modelling
  11. Cheers Guys, Yes its disappointing, but we are looking at still doing next years show, it maybe at the school or at a different venue, when i know i will let you know. Welsh Yorkie, I'm sure we would be able to get you and Clum at a future show, always admired your layout when ever I've seen it. Retorte, that's entirely up to you, but your more than welcome to come along any time if you wanted to good luck with the move too Cheers Kevin
  12. Cheers Reorte, its a great shame that its had to happen, but there realy was no option, however we are always looking for new members if you would be interested in joining? Cheers Kevin
  13. 2015 STOCKPORT MODEL RAILWAY EXHIBITION 9.5.2015 - 10.5.2015 URGENT PRESS RELEASE Cancellation of ExhibitionStockport and District Railway Modellers have reluctantly decided to cancel their Annual Model Railway Exhibition which was scheduled to take place at Stockport Grammar School over the weekend of 9th and 10th May 2015. The Club has been forced to make this decision due to a sudden uncertainty on the part of Stockport Grammar School as to whether they are able to accommodate the Exhibition alongside another School event scheduled to take place on the Saturday of the Exhibition. A final decision is unlikely to be made by the School until 29th April 2015, and the Club’s Committee felt that leaving a decision with regard to the Exhibition until then was too much of a gamble if we then had to cancel some or all of our Exhibition arrangements. Stockport and District Railway Modellers have not taken this decision lightly, since the Annual Exhibition is the major fundraising event for the Club. However, it was felt that making the decision to cancel now was fairest for exhibitors and visitors alike, since it allows us to give the maximum amount of notice of the cancellation. The Club would also like to apologise to all those model railway enthusiasts who will now be unable to visit one of the North-West's most well-regarded model railway exhibitions. The Committee of Stockport and District Railway Modellers would like to ask you for your assistance in publicising the cancellation as widely as possible, so as to prevent any potential visitors making an unnecessary journey.
