Thank you I'm very proud of it. Once I move to the UK I'll eventually make Newton Grove MkII - but this time it will be a lot bigger to incorporate the turntable, coaling plant and all 6 shed roads.

So I don't get on here these days. I haven't been on in ages to be honest. However I felt that I should do one last post to 'round off' the project as such. I stared to build what became knows as 'Newton Grove 19F' on January 18th 2015. It has grown into a layout that I am very proud of. I've learned a lot over the build, made mistakes (as we all do) and ultimately increased my modelling skills. The ultimate culmination of the layout has really been in 2020. It has been featured in the Gauge O Guild 'Gazette' magazine, BRM's Jan 2021 edition and it will also be featured in the Feb 2021 edition of Hornby Magazine. So a lot has happened and been achieved in a year that turned the entire world on its hands and knees. Below are some of the photographs that I took for the BRM article. I hope you enjoy them. Thank you all so much for your feedback, guidance and support over the years. I can't thank you enough. Special thanks must go to Stephen Fay who not only inspired me to build a small O gauge layout (unknowingly) when I saw his magnificent 'Cardiff Canton MPD', but also personally as I connected with him here on RMWeb and also on Facebook. He's been a wealth of support and he is an amazing modeller. May all your layouts be fun and enjoyable and keep those trains rolling! Hello Ian, I haven't been on RMWeb for a very long time, so apologies for the late reply. Thank you for the compliments, I really appreciate them. Since then the layout has been featured in BRM's Jan 2021 edition which I am very grateful for. Looking back at this entire thread, it's humbling to see where I started 6 years ago and look into what it has grown in to. I'm very proud of it and I'm glad that other modellers like it too Many Thanks Jonathan

I've been following the LNWR George Fifth project for a while am I'm very impressed with the progress you're all making. It's going to be a cracking loco! I can't believe how long it's been since I logged on here. Life gets busy and in the way at times. 2MT 46519 is starting to get weathered. The fireman side is mostly done and I've sealed it with Matte varnish this morning. Trouble is, it's no longer as 'dull' as it was when it was just powders - oh well, I can fix that with more powder if needed. And here is a video of 44871 entering the head shunt road. (Hopefully it uploads) I need to give the track a good clean and also clean the wheels of the locos too. I don't run the models much and as a result they don't always run the best. I'm sure all the weathering powders and matte sprays don't help either :/

Hi Tim, Yes I will use the LM red for the frame, but along with Black too. I think that all red is far too much The Scott is mine, I've kept it on the shelf for many years though and not on Newton Grove. Eventually she will become 46132 'The Kings Regiment Liverpool'. I have the plates for her and sometime this year I will get along to finishing the loco with lining, plates, etc. Thank you for the compliments Newtz

I've finally had the time (and drive) to cut the hole in the baseboard to fit the ground signal to Newton Grove. This is positioned almost under the road bridge, between the two entrance tracks. I am yet to weather it all down and I also need to purchase servos etc to wire it all up and make it work. However to begin with it's looking brilliant. Many thanks to Mr. Jon Fitness of Bolton Bit's for his amazing craftsmanship!!

Hi Osgood, I've never used colour pencils before either, however it's good to experiment. So far the results have been very pleasing and when it comes to weathering more with powders I'm sure the final results will look great

*PLAYING IN PHOTOSHOP* A goal to aspire to I think. It would be amazing to have Newton Grove on the cover of BRM one day (Or Model Rail, etc)
