  1. Thank you. That helps. I have still to find a shot that shows all the backs of those buildings.
  2. That looks really good Luke. I very much like the trees. (My tip to improve it, would be to make the grass a bit patchier. So for example instead of two big clumps in the forground also add a few smaller ones, as weeds and grass are often a bit random in the way they grow)
  3. It started life as a cheap 47596 Aldeborough Festival shell off Ebay. I then found a chasiss. That one didnt need handrails made as they were allready wire on that one. I had some spare buffer beam detail. I then renumbered it to 47010. 47324 is the other one that is cobbled together
  4. I have drawn out a trackplan. Just about doable in the space I have. Would a very occasional class 45 or class 40 ever have made it into the yard or on the odd holiday excursion? (I have found a few pictures of 40s on rail tours)
  5. Heljan 47s. I photographed them in order to sell all four of them in order to upgrade to new Bachmann 47s. However having just pictured them....you know what I think I will keep them. And slowly build up a fleet of Bachmanns. 47012 will be the first purchase soon. Tweaked with various handrails, headcode panels, windscreens and so
  6. Were you involved in saving Barrow Hill? If so thank you...as I have enjoyed every visit I have taken there.
  7. I haven't made my final decision yet with regards to the new class 47 fleet. At the moment I am edging towards Bachmann. The only thing stopping me is that I so want plated headcode versions. And Heljan have 47316 on the way.
  8. Yes 31418 will appear on the layout. Stock will be 03, 08, 31/0 31/4, 37, 47 Cravens DMU in blue. Another DMU not sure which on yet. I really like the way the houses off to right out of shot can form a low relief backscene.
  9. I am really looking forward to this project. I hope my scratchbuilding skills are up to it. Thank you very much. Do you have any of the wall behind the class 31 above and of the inside of the station.
  10. thank you Andi I also need to work out how far back the buffer stops were in the station. It looks like the roof area covered the first coach of the unit and a small part of the second. Although the roof has gone, I think I might have to make a trip to Lowestoft to acertain dimensions.
  11. Also does anyone know what the length of a two car cravens is in 4mm?
  12. Can anyone identify the van body lying within the station please
  13. Thanks. I am now compiling an off line folder. Thanks, I am now compiling an off line folder
  14. Thanks for all the responses A few more pictures so I have them all in one place. This shows the hut and the ground cover. 31418
  15. Those have been my thoughts exactly, If nothing is anounced over the next year. I will get two 625 bodies get them resprayed (I dont have the kit or room to do it) and then get numbering and weathering, My other option is to buy a few 47012 and then fit plated headcodes from Shawplan. But would need to match the yellow. We shall see! (The high intensity light I can take or leave as I model 1980 -1985, so some had them some didn´t. Given the choice I would take one with out the light, but beggars cant be choosers)
  16. It seems appropriate to put this here
  17. Some of the 1959 design Transfesa ferry vans which were a common sight into the 80s would be great. https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/ferrytransfesavan1959
  18. An earlier map of the rail network, for any that are interested http://www.lowestofthistory.com/pic/carousel_a0041_b.jpg
  19. Thanks Andi. Does it show the track layout as it was in 1980? I am not sure. I will look into it.
  20. A couple more. Something that shows the track plan at the station end would be good.
