  1. One thing I have noticed is that 47s with dominoes have lights at one end and a true domino effect at the other. I can only see lights on the pics but perhaps just one end is shown in the photographs
  2. Same here. If Bachmann run another batch of 47s in the new year...then that will also influence my decision.
  3. 25190 seemed to follow me about in the 1980s. So here she is.
  4. 25190 has turned up at the run fown yard end sidings. This loco always seemed to follow me about. So I had a soft spot for it.
  5. Ferry Waggons. I am hoping to eventually recreate a typical Dover Town working.
  6. I will probably go for Bachmann. As I know the cab shape of the Heljan ones in O gauge wasn't right and perhaps it will not be right on the OO 47. Heljan also don´t have a habit of making changes when errors are pointed out. But I will await a back to back comparison between the new Heljan and Bachmann models before I make the final decision. My gut feel is that it will probably be Bachmann.
  7. I really like your muddy puddles. Very convincing.
  8. I am looking to replace my four tubby duffs and Bachmann 47436. With a new fleet. 1980 - 1984 is my layout time frame. Given the price point of Heljan it is going to have to be just right. They are releasing a blue 47/3 with a plated headcode, which Bachmann don't currently offer. So that is what is drawing me to them. I have been tempted to buy a couple of Bachmann 47012 and take the plunge but have held off. So I am awaiting the Heljan release eagerly. Compare with Bachmann and take the plunge. It will be my last big loco purchase for my rail blue fleet. (I will buy 4) Class 45s. Bachmann won over Heljan for me. We shall see with the 47s
  9. Its good modelling but what I really like is that it is packed full of interest that draws you in. I would like to see the lost photos too, if you still have them Steve
  10. First couple of wagons to be photographed. I only have a camera phone these days.
  11. Taken just now. This is my first time in months I have had time to do anything railway. Next visitor is 37034.
  12. Thanks Keith. Early 80s BR blue was the world I grew up in too, full of atmospheric memories. so I did my best to recreate a tiny bit of it.
  13. These are all seem to be able to find, so I will take new pictures of my expanded collection of locos and stock.
  14. Thanks Kevin. I am going to see if I have any of the old photos about.
  15. I got this out again, all the old pictures were lost in the big outage. 33053 as I remember her in the early 80s.
  16. 31270 passes the empty fuel point. Whilst 37034 sits in the yard with a coach which will form part of an PW train over the weekend.
  17. To my knowledge. The only services they appeared on were those down to Norwood and I have only seen pictures of them in the 70s on it. Exceptions I know of are I heard a report of a 25 making it to Ashford in the late 70s on a special to Dover. It was pulled off at Ashford and apparently returned light. But no number and no picture of it...so perhaps it is an urban myth. I have a picture of double headed 25s with coal empties St Mary Cray way in the mid 70s. I am not sure a 25 made it to Hither Green on freight in the 70s and 80s. I know the odd 31, 37 and 40 did. (I know 25s made it to Hither Green in the late 60s)
