  1. Good luck in finding out about the wagons, I know when I was doing something similar wagon hunting, I would use past rolling stock books the railway did and chat to c&w lads who normally had a list.
  2. Nicely done, when will we see NWR no 5 and no 2? Mike
  3. Thank you for all the help and I have bitten the bullet and bought a pack of couplings and hopefully will fit. As for fitting the chassis I took off the back sand boxes 1st,as there was no front ones on my mainline body. Then I cut off the plastic plank I will call it where you could fit the crew. I left the brake leaver and gear leaver in placed but did filed the bits of plastic around them a bit for them to fit. On the mainline body there are two screw holes for the chassis which I cut and filed to make them flush so the chassis could fit but it is a bit of a tight fit despite a bit more filling. The chassis would stay in place without needing to secure it but I did look at the back to drill a hole into the coal bunker but found the metal weight was under the coal bunker floor and despite drilling the screw would not tighten. So I drilled a small hole in the front chassis screw hole into part of front under the smoke box running plate floor, not a big one and used the screw from the mainline chassis which also hold the coupling in and used that to secure it. There is still a bit of a gap between the body and chassis, so going to put some black tac to hold it. The only other thing to do is put in a new cab floor.
  4. Hi All I bought off Ebay a Bachmann 56xx chassis as a replacement for mainline chassis which has burnt out. The only problem is to find couplings to fit in the chassis as Bachmann has stopped selling the one that should fit the chassis for a new ones but I am unable to find any info on which ones they should be. Can anyone help me please?
  5. Hi all, been talking with a few friends about light railways of standard gauge, and on about the locomotives used. Were tender engines a necessary for the railway to continue to function or a waste of money than the company buying big tank engines? Mike
  6. Thank you for the information and help. I have contacted peco to see if they have a better picture of signal to use to help.
  7. The part I'm having trouble with is the part where the two brass wire is join through the signals to the signals. I can't make out the parts clearly and which part of the kit they are from. As they are not numbered. If someone could highlight them on the photo of the parts.
  8. Hi all, I wonder if someone could help me with building ratio Lms signal kits. The one I am trying to build is the junction signal fig 3. I have done a Google search but unable to find a picture to help. Thanks mike
  9. Hi all, I have got a a Hornby mk2 D Bso brake coach R4464 in swallow /executive livery. One thing I have notice and I think it a error on Hornby part as I have been unable to find a real photo of the coach. What I think is wrong with the coach is on two of the doors is emergency only and the other guard on one side of the coach but on the other side there is nothing also I think the door which say emergency only is supposed to be the guards door. Does anyone know if this just a error or was like it in real life? Thanks mike
  10. Hi all, did electric wire to power the overhead electrical locomotive go into early railway locomotive sheds or was the pantograph lowered or a new sheds were built for them? Mike
  11. Thanks for the help. I will take a look over the Christmas period. Mike
  12. Hi all, I wonder if you could please help me with a finding a replacement or alternative for a class 87 lima make royal sovereign? When I bought it the pantograph was broken off. I thought I could use a Hornby class 86 pantograph but would have to drill new holes in the body. Any suggestions? Thanks mike
  13. I know when I was helping out with a project of Swansea south docks. I know a fair bit of military items went through the docks, road transport like car etc as imports and exports, metals from ImI which was part of IcI, lew of the L&B left Swansea for Brazil, a funnel for TR was dropped off when their no4 trying out the Gisele funnels. Swansea did have some railway builders and might have sent stuff through the docks. Meat, flour, animal's, clothing items and materials, beer, wine spirits. Mike
  14. Hi all, I am trying to find some cab interior for two of my diesels in 00 gauge but found nothing. I am thinking of using a different class interior which would not look out of place. The ones I am looking for is Hornby railroad class 35 and Lima class 31,33. Thanks mike
