  1. Mine arrived this morning well worth the wait, pleased with all aspects cannot make my mind up about fitting the cab doors though. Runs great straight out of the box well done Bachmann
  2. Hi, BR Early Emblem with sound, ordered last week on the 15th. Cheers
  3. Just noticed that my credit card has been charged and my order has now moved to "in progress" on my rails account. Not much longer to wait!
  4. Hi Phil, In answer to your post its a crime mystery thriller I guess you could say, as for publishing hmm I am no Ian Rankin believe me! The feedback will be interesting to say the least and I am not saying no to maybe a ebook on Amazon but really I doubt its up to standard. I will let you know what my readers make of it lol! Mean time its back to trains in the shed!
  5. Morning, Thought I would pop in here and wish all of you the best for Xmas and New Year , Ive not been around for the last six months which has just seen me complete a major project. In simple terms I have written a novel which Ive had printed (Xmas presents for the kids/friends) something Ive always wanted to do but never had the time or tenacity to follow through on. I have a new found respect for writers! The feedback should be fun or maybe not! Enjoy the festive season guys Alan
  6. Ordered mine on Wednesday from Cheltenham Model Centre Royal Mail 48 hour tracked arrived Friday, pleased I took the plunge and purchased this model which runs like a dream on my layout especially at slow speed. Well worth the wait guys!
  7. Afternoon, Heavy rain with 40mph winds has been the feature since Saturday night, this has meant/means no outside jobs! Tided the garage up yesterday and have rubbish all ready for my appointment at the local tip tomorrow, I forgot about the last one, slipped my mind till the following day. Hoping the rain stops if present for my tip run, fingers crossed. Enjoy your day more so if you have dry weather!
  8. Morning, the rain arrived about 30 mins ago, thunder and lightning due around 5pm if the forecasters are correct. In the the shed at the moment ( peace) whilst other half is busy baking, I will probably go for a nap after lunch as last nights sleep or lack of needs rectifying. At least it's cooler today which is welocome. Enjoy your day folks
  9. Afternoon from a very warm location! We have a breeze but it's just warm air so no respite but never mind. House like an oven with all windows open and blinds etc closed however my shed is very nice at a steady 75f which makes it seem cool compared to elsewhere. Hammerite and brush cleaning no never even attempted, bin and that's it. Front lawn needs mowing but that wait till this evening when it's a bit cooler. Saw a headline that the Brits are booking a holiday every 11 seconds eh not in this household at this point in time. Enjoy the rest of the day folks
  10. Morning, After a very busy weekend and a broadband failure on Monday which has only just been fixed I am numerous pages adrift being up to date on the comings and goings on here. So congratulations and commiserations as appropriate to all. In the same vein as others its to hot to do any jobs today a book to be read and a gin and tonic ( maybe x2) to be enjoyed sat under our beech tree in the shade. So enjoy your day and the sunshine.
  11. Oval for me, whilst I enjoy shunting wagons about I am more than happy to watch a long freight or passenger train trundle through the station. Space though I guess is aways a deciding factor, currently a 16x12 shed houses my layout so I guess I am lucky. Oval or end to end having some form of layout to play/run is the important thing!
  12. Afternoon from a very wet/damp and still raining part of the North West. Its not stopped raining for more than an hour since the early hours of yesterday morning just as I had an email from United Utilities asking me to be careful with my water usage! Water butts are full to the brim! Time has been productive in the shed though as I have gone through every box sorting and placing in correct boxes etc. No real finds apart from a couple of fine hair paint brushes I forgot I had. In other news the tap in the ensuite bathroom sink decided to leak ie drip when turned off, this meant a replacement cartridge had to be sourced and fitted. Cost of £20 for this particular one, a lot more than an old tap washer! Also not helped by the fact that one of the isolation valves (cold fill) decided it would leak when turned to isolate the water supply to the tap but would cease to leak when turned on to supply water to the tap! So I replaced that at the same time which extended the job time. Brownie points galore obtained though but I need a rest now! Mug of Tea Scone Jam and Cream beckon so Ive just been told! So Enjoy what's left of the day
  13. Going to be wet for a while yet I think
  14. Morning, Steady rain here which is due to last for a couple of hours according the forecasters before a short break then more rain.At least it stops me doing any outside jobs! Congratulations on your anniversary Aditi and Tony enjoy your day.
  15. Will be interested to hear your thoughts after giving it a go, quite tempted to get one so a user review would be welcome!
  16. Morning, Sun is shining and its very pleasant outside with a thunderstorm possible this afternoon. Its going to be a muddling day in the shed as the one job I had for today has been done. One of the water buts has sprung a leak at the tap some of the plastic collar has cracked off so a new one has been ordered ( can't be bothered to go to the orange shed or places of similar ilk) aided by plumbers PTFE tape and a extra washer I have bodged a temporary repair filling the but to just above the tap to check. Seems ok at the moment. We will see. Other than that not a lot to report. Take care and enjoy your day
  17. Afternoon All, Garden Furniture building chaos today, other half ordered wrong part for one of the items (So glad it was nothing to do with me) So supplier contacted correct part will be delivered in the next 10 working days( so they say ) and wrong part to be sent back. A nice glass of red is needed after the stresses and strains of the day! Happy anniversary GDB and STH - and happy birthday Gemma. Take care all
  18. Morning, just stopped raining here so off out to the supermarket, still recovering from a long drive to London and back in the day (lockdown rules) to sort a couple of issues son and daughter in law had ( not between them) saw grandson in the flesh for the first time since March 2nd boy has he grown now 6 months old. Supermarket beckons , it's most likely I will be back later. Enjoy your day
  19. Afternoon, Cloudy here but I am sure we will get some rain later as Ive spent the morning washing the cars, cleaning inside and checking tyre pressures etc so rain is inevitable! Not a lot to report absent over the weekend due to what seemed a good idea at the time which was to tidy up the mess that was the wiring for my layout under the baseboards! Power feeds to the track were fine just the wiring for 17 points and 18 lights which frankly were a mess. All sorted now and tidy and I now know which wire is for what! I did not take to working under the baseboards very well must be an age thing, next layout if ever will have to have tilting baseboards for ease. Waiting for the postman who should have my decoders at which point it will be off to the shed fingers crossed they arrive today. Enjoy the rest of the day
  20. Morning, The sun has now shown itself after about an hour of rain which is a good job as other half has gone off to the supermarket and hopefully she did not have to queue long to get in. 50 mph winds are due later on today so a quick inspection of the garden making sure all is secure beckons. I can cope (just about) with the reality of cancelled holidays/planned events etc, we are fortunate that one son lives close by and can come for a garden visit, sadly my eldest lives over 230 miles away and its not really feasible and being a first time Grandad by Zoom/Face Time is not ideal. Other half finds this really hard to cope with, hopefully they will be able to come and stay soon. Future Daughter in Law the Dr has not seen a covid case for the last six days and will soon be moving back away from A&E/ICU to her Oncology job so thats good news. Had a look around the forums last night, as they say that you can't fix Stupid...Apparently you can't quarantine it either. Enjoy your day folks and be safe
  21. Married to a ex infection control Nurse and a daughter in law Dr currently working in an Intensive Care unit I have been using a face mask/s since lockdown began. I didn't need to wait until some politician told me to do so, yes its a late ruling and better late than never, ahead of Scotland/Wales and N Ireland for once though.
  22. Nice and tidy! is it always like that? Happy birthday Andy
  23. Afternoon, Jobs finished for the day and the shed beckons, other half wanted something out of the loft this morning which was okay until she came up the ladder and starting asking what's in that box and that one etc etc. What should have been a 15 min job took over an hour! Though I did discover a railway book Signalling Days Final Reminiscences of a GWR Railwayman By Harold Gascon so all was not lost! As for these adverts nothing like Jamies ( I do wonder what web sites he visits outside of RMWeb !) as I have been looking at watches hence the ad below appeared. Enjoy your day folks
  24. Afternoon, Not been around for a few days just busy with a few jobs and then helping other half with something. Did try and login last night but had problems so gave up. Re Mick Bs thread sadly the opening post features a beauty spot not too far from me, I just don't understand why folks dump their rubbish. Intrigued by comments on here I did have a look thorough the subsequent posts, oh dear! I will refrain from having a look at the exhibitions cancelation thread as I am sure it features more of the same. Need to order a couple of decoders this afternoon and book a tip slot for next week and thats about it. Enjoy the rest of the day and stay safe
  25. Sad to hear your news stay safe Chris. On adverts I have yet since the Russian Brides ad back in Feb not had anything remotely connected to the female species. Garden sheds seem to be the norm I must be doing something wrong!
