  1. No they haven't. Because if they had, then their legal advisors would have advised them to shut the doors immediately. It is illegal to trade whilst insolvent. Its is contrary to the companies act. Any director found trading whilst insolvent is struck off at a minimum and the details handed over to the Police.
  2. Back when I was young and lived in the south east the local trains were 1950s electric trains with doors you had to open from the outside. I remember the station being closed because someone was decapitated after leaning out.
  3. The NYS & W delivering grain to a brewery in Utica. Look at the curve going in to the brewery,
  4. There’s a diner in Jack London. (Yes that Jack London) square by there which is open all hours. I found this bit of street running by eating there after a Muse concert at Oakland Colosseum back when I was staying and working in the bay.
  5. Well our oldest bridges were When we were Roman!
  6. Any further news? I understand the with pandemics, stupid budgets and the like the world is not so stable at the moment but there are a couple of things from the old range I am interested in.
  7. Yes advertising is annoying but expecting something for nothing is a bit arrogant. Remember rule 1 of the internet. If you pay for it, it’s a product. If you don’t then YOU are the product. That’s the whole point of social media, to monetise you!
  8. You shouldn’t need to address it.
  9. At £79 it is more expensive than the Bachmann DBSO which is a lovely model, with better DCC control and no light bleed.
  10. I’ve tried this and either they don’t have what I want in stock, or completely ignore because I’m not male so I’ve given up.
  11. I wouldn't buy the PECO system purely because of price. The servos are around 3 quid on eBay. Frog switching can be done with latching relays which are a similar price. I'm controlling the servos with an arduino tiny which costs under a tenner on eBay. Its probably the software that puts people off.
  12. Neither, The ch is at the back of the throat like a cat coughing a fur ball.
  13. Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch in truth most English people can’t say Welsh names, And don’t get me started with layouts with “joke” names,
  14. Define “correct details”. There is no such thing as a legal name in the UK. You can use what ever name you wish as long as its not for criminal activities. Names are covered by common law. There is one law which is about not using real names etc. People may use different names for all sorts of legitimate reasons. Being able and happy to use your regular name is a privilege. People use different names because they are avoiding abusive partners; LGBT people how get abuse and harassment; they are female in a make arena and get abuse; their regular name doesn’t match their identify such as trans people; and so on. Peesonally I have been attacked due to LGBT and because I’m female and a senior person in the tech industry and some men seem to think that makes me fair game.
  15. You may want to change the networking type for VMWare Fusion. You can have NAT, bridged, or host only. make sure you are using bridged. It means fusion acts like it has its own network port. You can set an IP address different to that of the Mac. it also means that data can travel freely in both directions.
  16. The maintenance app can be run on Mac if you install WINE first.
  17. I had thought the speaker I was using was 8 ohm but I'm not so certain now. So I'm going to try with a different speaker that is 8 ohm. Overloading the sound amp could explain what's going on. It seems to be okay unless I push the sound effects.
  18. Yes, I checked the current consumption, on paper. Yes I did check it with a plug in adapter however the body wouldn't fit so I ran it with the lid off. May have been cooler. When I ran it with the lid off it did not have insulation. If its this borderline I wont be using it...
  19. Hi all, I've fitted a Hornby TTS sound decoder for a class 37 in to a Bachmann class 37 with the 21 pin socket. I did it by removing the the 8 pin connector and soldering it on to a 21 pin break out board. I also swapped the speaker for one that fits in the space. However its misbehaving. It looks fine and then after a while the sound stops, the loco goes on full speed, and always goes in the same direction. I looks like the decoder is crashing. I can explain the full speed as the H-bridge on the decoder is stuck so the rectified current from the track is being passed straight to the motor. I have tested using a new, latest version, Bachmann 21 pin decoder and the loco seems fine. It also seems find when I don't use sound so I'm wondering whether its current draw issues. The replacement speaker is supposed to be 8Ω but may be it isn't. I am an embedded engineering working in mainly software but with some hardware so can do electronics and diagnostics and code and micro-controllers. Any ideas? Thanks Mel
  20. Very nice work. I work a short walk from the Shipley yard. I have be building stock and boards to do my own version. I even made a start to building Venom. But since I haven't laid track I'll rethink as mine could never look this good :-)
  21. I've bought both the railfreight redline and the metals 37 from Hattons because of their prices. I'm just getting back in to modelling 4mm standard gauge. I've been out of modelling for a while then slowly came back in to it via narrow gauge (009). But I have the inkling of a 00 gauge layout comprising a bit of mainline and a scrap yard. Next is to weather and detail the 37s so I'm watching this thread with interest.
  22. The box at Horsforth has now gone. Signalling was all transferred to Harrogate (I'm not sure if that means the semaphores on the line from Harrogate to York are now lights or not). The box was demolished earlier this year to make room for sidings for a new peak time Leeds/Horsforth commuter. It was kind of nice standing on the platform at Horsforth, seeing the old goods shed (albeit now part of a timber yard), the box just down the line, and the pair of sidings. Echos of the old station.
  23. If you want a replacement chassis for a kit built Manning Wardle then RT Models has started making the valve gear, bogie kits and outside frames so you can utilise the rather good Bachmann/farish 08 chassis.
