  1. Old but completely unused plastic kit for a footbridge. In excellent condition - has just been stored. £25 including postage.
  2. A long platform at the rear, plus the island. I thought that three full platforms would be too much visually for a single track station, so I choose a short parcels bay. And I've learnt a new swear word - "Code 40 fishplate". They're lovely but oh so fiddly!
  3. Here's my N gauge version, 4' long and a sort of cross between Victoria Park, and PMP's Shelfie 3. The short track is long enough for a 2-car EMU, or some parcels stock. The longest platform will take 4 or 5 coaches. I've laid most of the track now (with British Finescale code 40) and next will be point motors and wiring. I'm looking forward to the scenery, all inner city, with the station on brick arches.
  4. Sorry, but easier said than done. Especially when you're already planning two or three years ahead. You've got to have the people who want to step up.
  5. Perhaps it's in order to again thank both Hattons and Warley for their integrity and transparency in handling these major decisions. We can only wish them well, as both have made a significant contribution to our hobby.
  6. At least he can be sure that the drivers won't be on strike....
  7. Here's my N gauge version..... Not half as detailed, but very satisfying from a distance!

  11. Visited this morning and it was worth the visit. Great to get a close look at Canada Street without the crowds and was charmed by Bunkers Lane.
  12. A reminder - ESNG Open Day on Saturday 15th. The show will be small, but perfectly formed (unlike most of the members.)

  14. Our Open Day as last year is at our regular meeting place, in Redhill. The hall is close to Earlswood station and bus routes, and an easy walk from Redhill station. It has level access and plenty of local on street parking. We will be running a modular layout (Including our new fiddle yard) as we do most club nights. We have a guest appearance from the original Konigshafen plus two other layouts. These will be supported by the club second hand sales. Refreshments (Including the famous cakes and real coffee) will be available. Exhibits will be: East Surrey N Gauge Modular Layout (18x10') Konigshafen - German Epoch IV Main Line (13x3') Leonard - 3rd Rail Network Southeast (8x2') Kuritu II - Japanese Trams (3x2') ESNG Club Shop Come and see us and have a coffee and chat! Our full club exhibition will be at the same location on 30 September.
  15. Visited today, and once again a very good show. A good number of layouts that were new to me, no dross at all, and a wide range of prototypes and scales. For me, Uckfield is an essential visit - much better than many of the larger shows, as the standard of layouts and modelling is so much higher. I'm just surprised that there haven't been more positive comments on this thread. (And the Civic Centre cafe is excellent!)
  16. My copy arrived Monday. Great read. And I've already designed the railway-after-next to capture a favourite location that has defeated me in the past. (Think Pacific Electric.)
  17. For East Sussex N Gauge, read East SURREY N Gauge! 😉
  18. Not with a large van full of N gauge modules, and thousands of pounds worth of rolling stock.....
  19. East Surrey N Gauge took modules to form part of the layout at the N Club International meet at Stuttgart for over 10 years. Then we left Europe (to say nothing of covid). Our assessment was that it was either too expensive or too complicated to take layouts to Germany now - but we'd be delighted to see a clarification of this, and some clear rules. Incidentally, the Swiss members of NCI had exactly the same problems taking layouts to Germany - endless lists of trains and a long, long time to get through customs both ways. I suspect it is now the same for us in the UK.
  20. Thanks! I especially like the use of velcro to hold the legs in place. I'll try that on my next N-club or N-mod module. Cheers, Jon
  21. Neat design. Is there a link to the leg design that I could access, or is it buried within the FREMO members area? Thanks, Jon
  22. It's happening on Saturday! Final preparations well in hand. We've had a layout drop out, but Dan Hull has stepped in with his display of models AND prototypes of the Rapido Class 28 to see and run. Hope to see you there. If possible, please save the church parking for the disabled/elderly and look for on-street parking. Or we're very close to Earlswood station, and an easy walk from Redhill or buses on the A23.
