Inspirational layout. Always liked it and was invited to have a little go at operating a loco at a show a few years back.

Hi all, I need suggestions which single core wire I need on my points for soldering the little pieces from rail to rail for better DCC operation please? YouTube mentions using some of the spare length attached to the frog but I've cocked up and now I've none spare to use. cheers and Happy Easter Tony

Four boards, total 18ft. Great idea. My only concern is that I've bought metal trestle tables to sit boards on which are wider than the 2ft width and so sides would perhaps buckle eventually. I suppose I could brace those with 2 x 1 underneath. Should work, yeah?

Hi all, Need some advice please. I'm about to start an exhibition layout using baseboards I already built for a layout which never materialised. Seems a shame to waste them. I'd like to use slow action Tortoise points but the framework on these boards is only 2 x 1 timber and I think the Tortoise motors will be in danger of getting damaged in transit. I was originally considering Peco points but must admit I do prefer slow action ones without the 'clunk' of solenoid ones. I imagine a lot of the older exhibition layouts have solenoid motors and it is too much of a faff to change them. Any thoughts will be most welcome.

Hi all, I need some recommendations please. I'm about to start on a portable layout using 2ft x 4ft baseboards and wanted to support it with adjustable metal trestles. I've looked at a couple online but they seem too wide and will stick out under the boards. Ideally I'd like something that's near 2ft wide - any suggestions will be most helpful. Thanks

Glenuig is without doubt my favourite of all the Scottish-themed layouts I've seen over the last few years. It is perfect in every way and an inspiration. Well done. I saw it 'in the flesh' at one of the DEMU shows and it lived up to expectations.

Very, very nice modelling. I miss the parcels trains on today's network so it is nice to look back and remember them. A fine layout and proof that size isn't everything!!

I too am a great follower of your videos so it is good to see your efforts on RMWeb. I never really liked the idea of a motorway on Everard Junction so I'm pleased it has been replaced by a canal. Cracking layout and very inspirational.
