  1. My Lima body on a Bachmann chassis, shown on 'Earl's Court' Front plate converted, bunker steps removed (on other side), etched plates. £32.00 for the chassis, £10.00 for the body, plus paint, plates etc.
  2. About 2 1/2 years. There is still some work in progress though. Should be 100% for the show in October
  3. Many thanks. My own resin castings, including the bays, roof and chimneys.
  4. Many thanks Nick Always a bit apprehensive at the first appearance but layout ran well and, thankfully went down extremely well with the public.
  5. My latest exhibition layout Rossiter Rise made its debut at the Beaconsfield show yesterday. OO gauge/4mm scale Model Railway Rossiter Rise is a fictitious through station based in North West London, somewhere in an arc between the Western Avenue in the west and Edgware Road in the north. It it set in the mid-late 1950’s. It consists of two main tracks running through the station which depict electrified tracks using the 4 rail system. Trains on these are mainly ex LNWR/LMS electrics, together with the later BR version. To the rear of this is a through, non-electrified bay platform, which usually has push/pull trains, dmu’s etc. In front of the main platforms is a terminating London Transport bay. This is designed to be used by various types of LT stock. In front of the station is a small LT depot. The layout has been designed to be operated by 2 people with the intention of giving the viewing public plenty of moving trains! Many of the buildings are scratch-built. Others are ‘kit-bashed’ whilst some are kits or ‘ready to plant’ items that have been modified and detailed. The inspiration for the layout is extensive and varied. Such locations as Willesden, Harrow & Willesden, Watford Junction, Drayton Park, Lillie Bridge, Acton Central, Richmond, the eastern end of the Central Line, have all come to mind. I'll post more photos and details soon. Exhibitions booked for the remainder of this year are: 26/27th October Cheltenham 3rd November Epping Plus 2020 & 2021 bookings. I can me contacted on terry.ecmr@gmail.com
  6. Nice model you've got there. Love all the North Western electrics. Couple of pictures of mine. 501 converted for Bachmann 2EPB. Also with 3D printed Oerlikon.
  7. Here's one I made earlier..................... Shown on my Earl's Court layout.
  8. Very enjoyable weekend with 'Earl's Court' Thanks to Phil for giving me a hand on Sunday.
  9. Earl's Court is appearing at the Calne show this weekend. My usual co-operators are unavailable....one is otherwise engaged and the other is house-bound awaiting to go 'under the knife' shortly. If anybody is available and wants to have a go whilst I have lunch or have a wander round that would be great. It's very simple, in & out, but with loads of stock to run. Experience with NEC Powercab would be useful but not essential. Either message me or just turn up on either Saturday or Sunday. Many thanks Terry Tew
  10. Looking forward to being there with Earl's Court. I've got a couple of new loco's on show.......... Ivatt 2-6-2t complete with a push/pull set. (Converted from Dapol coaches). Plus a 2MT 2-6-0 which will take a turn on shunting the milk wagons. Both the above brilliantly weathered by Harry Pollard of Maidenhead MRC Terry
  11. Andy, is it the same chassis? I had a Hornby one and sold it because it was such an awful runner. Terry
  12. What does this make my 3 car set worth? Hornby modified with styrene overlays. Sound fitted with twin speaker. About £6000.00 I think!!!!!
  13. It's pretty good. I've added detail here and there. But worth getting if you are interested in LT.
  14. Go the the 4mm OO gauge Underground link, then the Engineering stock link. They have powered and non-powered. He's one of mine.
  15. Couldn't get there this year. Great selection of photos. Thanks.
  16. Excellent. I'm building something similar for my new layout. But I'm basing the roof and valance on Belmont on the Harrow & Wealdstone to Stanmore branch. Well done.
  17. There is a book around about Totem Signs, which has loads of colour photos. The variation in ER blue is amazing. Not all signs were made at the same time and the 'proper' colour may well have varied. Also, blue can appear very different depending on fading, bleaching, whether it is viewed in direct sunlight, or shade.............. Also, if you are using paint to replicate the colour on a model it will be affected by primer, material painted etc. So, in my opinion, there is no defining answer to the question........just keep trying until it looks right!
  18. Many thanks for the kind words. The conversion involved..... 1) Removing the cab roof overhang front and back, smoothing flat and then adding rivet detail using Archers Rivet Transfers. 2) Alteration to where the bunker meets the rear of the cab. The 64xx has a curve but the 74xx has a 90 degree join. I cut away the surplus bunker with a scalpel and removed the existing bunker rim. Then, using thin styrene, create a new bunker lip. 3) Remove the auto gear from under the bunker. That's about it. Terry
  19. I converted a Bachmann 64xx to a 74xx. Gave it to Harry Pollard to weather. Then he bought it off me!!
  20. South East Finecast on a Bachmann chassis.
  21. For anybody who is interested.........this is my 4mm scratch-built model of the type of ex. Met brake van featured on the final Chiltern Court train.
