  1. The Mill building is excellent! With regard to the interior lighting, would it be beneficial to paint over or disconnect a couple of them randomly? Would it be the case that every room would be lit all at the same time? Sorry if you have already mentioned this.
  2. Shame you need to remove sellotape to get it out the box!
  3. I will do, as soon as i get on with it lol, just at the track laying stage
  4. Excellent, glad I stumbled across this! As a very regular visitor to Paignton on holiday (at least twice a year lol) I’m looking forward to see this develop. Interestingly, I see your location as ‘near Churston’... my new layout I’ve just started has a very close likeness to Churston station, with some sidings similar to the former sidings at Goodrington Sands. Following with great interest.
  5. Looks excellent this does, looking forward to seeing it progress.
  6. At Glasgow, I wandered over to Lime St from our layout to have a look, I stood for a few minutes and saw nothing moving, so I asked the guy sitting at the control panel if anything was happening? He looked at me, then looked at his wrist watch, checked his paperwork and replied with ‘yeah, in about 3 mins and 20 seconds, there is a service arriving” Construction :- awesome Operationally :- poor Shame really, could be really something. I get that it’s ran practically prototypical and by timetable but most of us want to see things running. A good friend of mine has a layout of Glenfinnan, now if you were to run that prototypically, you could run a train, go home for a while and then come back later for the next service!
  7. What a great weekend! A very welcome return to the Scottish exhibition circuit. Layouts on show were fantastic, trade support was spot on and the catering superb. All in all a great show, here’s to seeing it back as a permanent date in the diary.
  8. Classy 52..... ah well there’s the thing.....I ordered a set for a complete loco, told what I needed was £40 , when it arrived there was 8 wheel sets in the package.....weird! By my calculations what you need is 2 pairs, which should be £20, unless I’m missing something. So I now have a full spare set. They are very good to be fair, match the other 3 68s I have, and are fitted in 10 mins. 20 quid is ok I suppose.
  9. You can now buy the correct wheel sets from Dapol via DCC Supplies as well. £10 per pair
  10. Flasks have to run as double loco as we know for back up sake, but I read somewhere a while ago The long term plan was to use the 88s on the flasks, can run as electric where it can (assuming most places will get knitting eventually) and if it were to fail, then the Diesel engine is there as back up, effectively 2 locos and save having 2 separate locos on it
  11. The only thing that hasn’t been rectified is the Vossloh logo on the front, it still point the wrong way on number 2 end, number 1 end is correct. That is on 005, don’t know for sure about other numbers, I know one of the ScotRail ones is wrong too.The ‘V’ should point this way...> and not this way.. <. Easy fix with a decal I suppose, if you were so inclined.
  12. Excellent work Mike, as you say, you won’t be able to do it at all, if you don’t have a go! Now, get on with the rest!
  13. On behalf of SDEG, I would like to apologise for us having to pull out of this show. We had to withdraw due to circumstances outwith our control, a decision we did not take lightly, and considered our position very carefully before make the decision. Its not something we wanted to do but on this occasion, this was the unfortunate outcome of a couple of issues we had, that just could not be resolved. My personal appologies also go to Andy, a good friend of both myself and our group, it made it harder to withdraw from his show. Iain Vice Chairman, SDEG
  14. Remember folks, Waddon Marsh makes its show debut this weekend at Ayr show. If you are in the area, come see it in the flesh
  15. Looks excellent including the signal box. All in all a brilliant looking layout
  16. We (SDEG) will be there with the ever popular Airthrey Park. A brilliant layout running some superb stock. See you all there
