  1. No no I appreciate the feedback, it helps me learn as I model. I’m glad you like the layout! Best wishes, Adam.
  2. Thanks for pointing that out! I’ve honestly never noticed that. I’ll definitely correct that before the first exhibition in two weeks! Saves more folk pointing it out! 😁
  3. I’m looking forward to adding the Scottish variant to my collection! Although judging from the fact that we haven’t seen decorated samples yet I’d imagine that Q2 is more likely going to be Q4.
  4. Glenadam Distillery is booked to appear at Statfold model railway exhibition in April! You can imagine my delight when I saw the layout on the event poster at Doncaster exhibition yesterday! Hope to see some of you there 🙂
  5. I’m still enjoying my model! I have to keep stopping myself from buying a second one!
  6. The models look great but those lamps really aren’t good, I’d much rather leave them off completely, it’s great to see they are trying to innovate with them but if it ends up ruining the model it will be a disappointment.
  7. LMS 8F, LMS crimson version for the collectors club, same as they did in N gauge… Please 😁
  8. Too much bling, not prototypical I’m afraid…🫣
  9. Evening everyone, It’s been a few months since I’ve posted any updates, the only real change has been the addition of some point levers, such an obvious thing that was missing but something I completely overlooked, situation now rectified 😄 I’ve also received Hornby’s new 2MT locomotive which has been weathered and details now added. Here’s a few pictures from today as I’ve had the layout out to test the new loco. Cheers 🥃
  10. Here it is in the real world, delivering the grain to my Scottish distillery. Cheers! 🥃
  11. Just spent a couple of hours doing a few extra details, added some additional rusting around the smoke box area, chopped away the NEM pocket, added the front end details, cylinder cocks, footplate crew and lamps.
  12. My 2MT has just arrived from TMC, I made use of their weathering service before they shipped it to me. I'm super impressed with the model and the weathering the guys at TMC have done, for £20 extra it’s well worth it just to knock that ex works finish off the loco. Looking forward to getting it on my distillery layout this evening 😁
  13. When I saw Scottish class 20s I immediately thought “ooooh BR green with tablet catcher???” Not to be this time, but we can’t have everything we want! 🙂
  14. One piece moulded handrails are the future! No gaps in those…not even where you’d want them 😁
  15. If you can see past the gap in the handrail….Tony’s trains of Rugby has some DCC ready & DCC sound 7812 Erelstoke manors in stock if anyone is still looking for one 🙂
  16. People will literally complain about anything… I’m sorry but a tiny gap like that does not take away from what is an outstanding model in my opinion.
  17. Not sure if it’s been suggested before but an interesting model that would fit in with many layouts…
  18. Thanks very much Karl, the inspiration came from piecing together bits of inspiration from different Scottish distilleries I researched and it seemed to turn out well in the end. I had the layout out the other night for a play (Trying out my new AS Manor, not sure many of those made it to any Scottish whisky distilleries though lol) I got a few fresh photos, nothings changed much from the last ones though, probably just more dust! I’m hoping I might make it to a couple of shows next year :) Cheers 🥃
  19. Mine could be doing nothing other than powering the firebox flicker but the second I lift the loco off the tracks it stops, just like a loco with no stay alive would do. I’ll be messaging the AS guys after the weekend to get the support they have offered.
  20. I purchased as a DC model but I have put a gaugemaster chip on the model, another silly question but does it have to be a chip purchased directly from AS? Sorry I don’t have much experience with DCC 😂
  21. The stay alive on my manor doesn’t seem to be working, upon investigation none of the pickups on the tender are touching the backs of the wheels so it’s picking up on the driving wheels only. Silly question but does the stay alive just use the tender pickups or does it use all the locos pickups? I’ve had the loco sat on the layout for quite a while to ‘charge them up’ but the second I lift the loco or go over a insulated frog point the loco stops dead. I can adjust the pickups but I don’t want to mess with it if it ends up having to go back for a look at. Does the stay alive work well on everyone else’s models?
  22. There was a Hornby delivery schedule document floating around a month or so back that had the collectors model of 78022 on it, showing it as expected into the warehouse around August.
  23. It would be interesting to find out if they were oversold by Key or if the production run didn’t complete the 500 examples. Gutted for the collectors who didn’t receive their models.
