  1. I believe that the bookshop in Grosmont has now closed, with https://www.mrslofthouse.co.uk/2022/02/16/about-our-store/ in Scarborough buying up a lot of his stock. (no connection other then as an occasional buyer and seller of books to them!) Got a fair selection in there. As for buying, they do cherry pick stuff they can sell, and are keen for books on diesels or local railway. Hope that helps.
  2. Simon, many thanks, mail sent to titfield. No major rush, just be nice to know there may be one somewhere with my name on it! (just need to smuggle it past SWYMBO now.... Thanks, Martin
  3. @Not Jeremy, speaking of auto trailers, is there any chance of a reprint of volume two of that excellent work by Mr Lewis? Or does the copyright not belong to you? It seems to be rarer then hens teeth to get hold of and is about the only missing volume in my collection of all things Great and Western that WSP have done!
  4. Kevin, many thanks, i know you have been busy with all your endevours and its appreciated. Santas list incoming amd look forward to an exciting, if somewhat expensive 2024! 😄 M
  5. @Strathwood Kevin, is there any more news on when the next Celebration/Steams Lament books might be appearing? I know you were hoping to get some out in time for xmas. just so I know if I need to hold off sending Santa my wish list or not! Thanks, Martin
  6. Hi, I am wondering if any kind soul has a copy of the instructions for the Churchward Models CM42 kit (GWR wooden hip roof signal box) they could scan or copy for me? I appear to have mislaid my copy, and whilst I think I know what I am doing with it I want to make sure!!!! Thanks, Martin
  7. Will this automatically be sent out to subscribers of WT or do we need to order it separately? Very much looking forward to it!
  8. Kevin, glad had a well deserved break, and glad all going well. Lots to temp there goong on so best sort out a small remortgage to fund them all! Thanks for the comprehensive reply, very much looking forward to all the new books to come to add to the collection of previous excellent stuff from both stables.
  9. Kevin, is there any update on the hydraulics or western books? Is the series of 6 hitting the shelves all at the same time or will they be drip fed individually and is there an expected price? Just need to know how much i need to start saving as if they are as good as the other strathwood series then they will all be goong into the library!
  10. this is gonna get expensive - best warn my bank manager now! Can't wait for the celebration of Castles or the western volumes!
  11. i got a copy of this and have to say there are some cracking shots in it - very much looking forward to when the cost of printing comes down to get a print version, but also nice in e format to keep in van when travelling! Congrats on an excellent volume!
  12. there is the ex GN somersault at Boston docks, although i believe this is no longer working and is used as a glorified stop board. Also it isn't technically NR, being on port land. other then that, i believe its unique in being LQ off ex GW/BR(W) territory.
  13. know off topic slightly, but i too was frustrated with the switch from card backed manila envelope to plastic packaging, so i let my subscription lapse, but instead i placed an order with my local newsagents who reserve me a copy (same with steam world as i was having to get a replacement nearly every month for it-clearly the post office think steam world makes good machine fodder!) Least this way i get a pristine magazine and give a local shop some business to boot.
