With 093 all finished I’ve turned my attention to my EE type 3, still in the early stages and lots to do but now this has arrived 👀 they’re multiplying Might have to weather this beast first Paul

Thanks very much Paul

Finally got around to some modelling, really pleased with todays efforts. I’ve done more work on the roof since the YouTube video
-
They are fantastic models, well worth every penny. Paul

I video of the weathering on the bogies Paul

Finally got around to making a start on the weathering of 56093, pretty pleased with how much I’ve managed in just one day, still more to do and bits to tidy up. Paul

Cavalex cl56 and the Accurascale cl37 have both now been converted to EM with the drop in wheel sets, the 56 was a doddle but the 37 was a bit of a pain in the ass. Paul

Grabbed an hour today so I fitted the detailing pack to the 56 and printed off the remaining Templot for the stabling point. I’ve also printed off the exit road which leads on to the Bootle branch towards ELJ, so I might model this as well. Paul

Thanks mate

Back in the day my Lima 31 was my favourite loco. Paul

I love the mid 60’s because of the liveries the odd kettle and the early diesel’s abs electrics but my spotting days were the mid to late 80’s so I will get a few I’ll be honest, and going by the 56 I think I’ll be ordering a 60 to. I also have a soft spot for cl90’s 🙄 Paul

Finally had time to get 093 out of the box and ran in, it’s git to be the best sounding loco I’ve had and the detail is outstanding, well done everyone at Cavalex. Here’s a quick video I did Paul

Thanks everyone so much I really do appreciate the kind words 🫡 I’m slowly getting back into it and I’m going to concentrate on the stabling point I started for now as it’s only tiny and I’ll work on that until it’s finished. I’ve finally had my Accurascale 37 out the box she ran it in and this little beauty. Not my usual era but I had to have one and I have to say it’s one of the best detailed and sounding locos I’ve had. Thanks again Paul

Evening everyone it’s been a while since posting sorry. Last few months have been pretty tough, and some dark places have been visited on a regular basis. Normally modelling would have got me out of those but it did reach a point just before Christmas where I thought today is the day. I’m not posting this to get sympathy or likes etc I’m just posting incase there’s others in a similar position. Don’t be afraid to talk to someone or ask for help, and don’t always assume people are ok. I’ve got the best job in the world, a wonderful daughter and life but yet I didn’t want to be here. On a positive I’m going to get through this I’ve got an amazing counsellor and talking does help. I am going to get back into my modelling and I’m going to do my best to do some of the best modelling of my life. Paul

I’ve just checked and it is indeed missing, to be honest I hadn’t even noticed because I was so impressed with it. I’ve just sent a private message. Many thanks Paul

Got my hands on 093 from Rails yesterday and although I’ve not had chance to get it out of the box I have to say it looks very impressive. I did order the EM gauge drop in wheel sets but they weren’t in the packaging, I did phone Rails but they said they haven’t got them yet and they’ll follow shortly. Paul

My EM wheel set is coming with mine from Rails. Paul

I model mid 60’s but had to pre-order 56093 can’t wait to get my hands on it. Paul

Thanks very much, I’ve painted the bogies with acrylic matt black then added various weathering powders, then the oil effect was added using a method I’ve not tried before on a loco. This is then sealed with matt varnish then some areas have more paint added along with more powders all over and into the oily areas then once again sealed with the matt varnish. Oil affect is actually diesel oil mixed with black powder. Thanks again Paul
-
Hope this is ok to post as it’s missing the rest of the loco but the body will follow! Class 40 bogie sides, looking rather worn, dirty and oily Paul

It’s oil, diesel oil, with a bit of black powder mixed in 😉 Paul
