  1. Just do what I do and put your foot down and say enough is enough and its time for modelling I always find I awake from the unconsciousness that hits me feeling totally refreshed
  2. I think "neverwazza" models are brilliant, it good to see what might have been, and adds interesting options to your fleet
  3. brilliant very inspiring especially for me as this is the next stage for my layout, more pictures please
  4. my father cuts his own gears, I'm sure he does it to show off, one day I may master the black art of solder
  5. I can see true modelling skill must run in your family, certainly a collection to be proud of
  6. From what I can remember of travelling as a child on the blue boxes as a kid, you would need to fit yourself with fog lights, I remember once the rugger team where all in the first coach behind a class 40, all of us hanging out the widows then the beast stormed off, result a team of instants astmatics, happy days
  7. Happy birthday, I'm waiting for them to have the N Gauge Ivatts in stock then Im going to collect my birthday present to me. Its a curse living within twenty minutes of Hattons lol:)
  8. Brilliant it great to see someone who looks outside of the BR era, and very brave to look at pre-grouping liveries, on day I may venture outside the LMS window and look at some original MR stocks Cant wait to see your next posts
  9. An a "N Gauger" the top of a model is usually the first thing we see and the roof on this model is brilliant, all you need is the blue haze escaping from the exhausts
  10. Cool I can't wait to see he progress one day I may build up the courage to model a prototypical location rather than a might have been location
  11. I must admit that I'm almost hoping that my nephew does not develop an interest in railways along with his parents, as even if you include the railroad range the cost of models is becoming a serious issue. I dread to think how much a basic 6x4 set up like we all started on would cost nowadays, and if the "Dad" has no interest in railway modelling it's a lot of cash to tie up in something that will have to complete with all the other draws on a Childs attention. Remember the days when eve supermarkets even sold cheap train-sets, I miss Lima
  12. Even to a die hard steam fan the quality of the work produced so far is brilliant

There is no hope for you, at least my European stock in in in N Gauge too so its easy to just claim that they are the same boxes just moved around a bit, now what to do with the G Scale. I always fancied a loft conversion,

Its one of the reasons I model in N gauge I can sneak things into the house really easy, I must admit when I run my 3 rail it creates a TV/Radio/Wi Fi black spot but the neighbours have not discovered its all my fault yet

Tell me about it I have a bit of a thing for the old Hornby Dublo 3 rail model, and have far more models than I have time to restore, plus I'm running out of nameplates, the major problem is justifying the 2 N gauge examples I have on my secondary line layout

To me you cant beat a Duchess, surely the greatest 4-6-2 to run in this country
  17. I must admit when the other half gives me a little freedom it goes to my head, last time they returned to find my face painted with blue woad and me running up and down the street in a tartan skirt, not so much Mel Gibson, more Margaret Rutherford Brilliant modelling though
  18. I'm jealous firstly over the quality of the modelling your are producing, and secondly as you get useful Christmas presents, all I ever get is ankle socks, well actually socks made for a size 9 foot, but given to a chap who takes 13...ho hum
  19. I'm not a 00 gauge modeller, but I have seen a couple of models recently where the N gauge version of the locomotive may be pretty close to having the same purchase cost of the 00 loco but in some areas detail that strangely seems more realistic? As ever a good blog update, I love the Model v Model approach its certainly taking me back to some of the locos I had as a kid
  20. Its not often modelled as its not very popular, but a rendering plant is an option, you can have various covered wagons going inwards and then open wagons and other types leaving with bagged bone meal and fertiliser leaving from another siding? You wont believe the size of the complex in my local town
  21. Brilliant as my father would say that's "proper modelling" it must be great to have jobs you can really get your hands dirty on
  22. This large scale modelling is like rocket science to a simple N gauge modeller like me, I look on it though with envious eyes
