  1. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/formulaone/article-13141827/Christian-Horners-text-messages-female-employee.html Well there you go!
  2. I really hope it's a more competitive season.
  3. It was The Hairy Bikers that got me into cooking. It wasnt just the recipes, but also the genuine love and friendship they had for each other which set them apart. The Agony Uncles podcast would have me crying with laughter. Their Paprika Chicken is in the slow cooker ready for tonight.
  4. Dave Myers has sadly passed away. Gutted. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-68433675
  5. Karma is well and truly broken and he will be even more insufferable. The first thing that should happen when an allegation along those lines is made is both people are removed from post whilst the investigation is underway. The fact he remained in post through out speaks volumes. Bet he takes a swipe at people who have commented on the issue for causing damage to the RB brand as well
  6. Might be worth checking the fit between crosshead and slide bars as my 97 is slightly stiff at the end of its stroke at the motion bracket end on one side.
  7. My sound fitted 93 arrived yesterday. Very nice it is too. Runs better than my other out of the box. Very smooth. I did notice a small sag in the bottom slide bars which was easily rectified. I also found the same issue with the valve guide not sitting right as per my other, again easily sorted. I'm really pleased with them and the sound of 93 reminds me of days spent riding in it and enjoying the muched miss Python bar.
  8. Just a thought, but what's in fire lighting tablets?
  9. Thanks for the update. Must be getting close to my sound 93.

    On Cats

We tried it once, many years ago and as we don't own a suit of armour it won't get repeated.
  11. So I have been busy milling the sides for Arley Signal Box. I transferred my sketches onto a CAD package during my lunchtime and laid out the views. I milled the sides from 2mm plasticard. The sides being held on the milling table with double sides tape. The digital readout is a godsend. The pockets will have slat board inserts made from some evergreen moulded materials. I will trim those to size on the mill as well. I've glued the brick sheet on the lower half and once dry will mitre the corners. I need to file out the corners square as well. But pleased with progress so far.
  12. For those of a nervous disposition I have found a way to remove the body. As you can see I cut 8 strips from some clear packaging and slide them in where the clips are. The body then comes away, but it catches on the vacuum hoses at either end, so some gentle persuasion is needed. Refitting is fiddly and the bogie end needs to go in first. I have fitted a Dapol imperium decoder, but looking at the CVs can't see which one dims the tail lamps.
  13. The remains of Welford Park on the Lambourn Branch. The sidings are now a car park and this short bit of the formation leads you to Welford Park itself. The Barlow rail is in remarkably good condition.
  14. Brought a tear to my eyes. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p0hc1zly
  15. Same here, had nothing but excellent service from then.
  16. I believe Mclaren use vinyl stickers as it were rather than paint. My lad can hear the Mclaren and Mercedes at Silverstone, but he can't get close enough to see.
  17. We were stood next to the boiler on a rather hot day.
  18. I'm really looking forward to my sound fitted 93. Especially as my youngest and I had a footplate ride on it.
  19. Did my after school paper round listening to him on Radio 1 and heard him Sunday morning in the car.
  20. That nugget was lost on my boys. As was the fact he wrote The Ghost Train which starred Arthur Askey.
  21. I would say mine is similar in that one side is better than the other. I wonder if the position relative to the pin is slightly out.
  22. Would it be this piece of the valve gear. This is my first 97. This was catching as you described. I had other problems as well so it went back. The same piece wasn't as bad on my replacement, but it did move up and down slightly. I thought I could see daylight as it moved up, but it was the light reflecting of a tiny location pin on the top slide bar. I stopped it in the right place and could see the pin using a magnifier. I applied a tiny amount of glue with a bit of Peco signal wire to the pin and eased the end back down. It's much better and the valve rod doesn't move up and down. I suspect it may have failed if I hadn't.
