  1. Thanks Philip, you obviously know more about public transport there than me. Tim T could always cadge a lift back as we have quite a few visitors, depending on which way he is travelling. Tony

  4. WH Smith in Cardiff only had Issue 3 the other day. I've ordered the last two direct from Kelsey.
  5. I went to your exhibition on Saturday and saw none off the above. Parking was a little difficult but generally Ok, and everyone was courteous, no pushing, no rudeness, no rucksacks and just the one bored lady (you know who I mean). Generally due to the popularity of her husband and his propensity to talk to all and sundry! All children who visited were well behaved and no personal hygiene problems. All in all a very pleasant day out. But I do know of some of the problems spoken about but to have them all in one go is a little unlucky. I realise I have probably spoken too soon as the next show I go to I'll get a full house. Tony
  6. I finally managed to get a copy today at my local WH Smith's (Pontypridd, South Wales), I was surprised they had them in a local store and had about five copies too. I have to say it was well worth the wait as there are some excellent photos of green, maroon and blue diesels therein. The captions are good to. Well worth the price, and an excellent addition for any WR fan of that period. Thoroughly recommended. Tony
  7. I first saw this on Facebook a few days ago. I tried the Irwell Press sit but no sign of it there. As stated above it looks like it's appeared in Ian Allan shops, but having lost our branch in Cardiff I'll have to wait until it appears in WHS. I hope this is soon. It looks a cracker of a book. Tony
  8. Thanks , at least I now know it's out. And if I drive 15 miles to Cardiff I'll probably find out there are non in WHS, they had the previous volume there last Friday. So direct from publisher it is then. Tony
  9. I found the thread Rob, looking good. Where did you get the two buildings from..the green shed and the brick yard office? Tony
  10. Doncaster or Singapore? The sunshine of the Far East or the cold of South Yorkshire.
  11. Just to let you know that Brian Tucker's Canadian layout is Moose Creek, and there are a couple of model mooses on the layout! Tony
  12. Not a bad afternoon out Brian?! 374 on Canton too. Tony
  13. Ok, thanks to Pteremy and Rivercider above. Looks like I will be giving those books a miss. I have his book BR Diesels in the 60s and 70s which is excellent and all colour photos. Tony
  14. I understand there are two book in this series of titles. I am trying to find out if they are pictorial books, and if so do they feature colour photos? If anyone can help that would be great. I am still missing the Ian Allan shop in Cardiff which closed about 3 years ago, so miss the opportunity to scan books before purchase. Tony
  15. Looks promising. Does the 'hard' copy include Traction Magazine too? Tony
  16. I'd agree, I think the majority of shots are green diesels but with quite a few in 'works' condition.
  17. There's also Diesels and Electrics on Shed Volume Three Western Region by Rex Kennedy. It's a 1980s publication by OPC. You should be able to get one cheaply on Ebay. Obviously it's the diesel era but some nice photos there. Tony
  18. I managed to pick up a copy in WH Smith (Cardiff) today. Only scanned it so far but looks another excellent publication.
  19. Well said Brian. I managed to book a short break to Cornwall which accounts for my absence, otherwise I would have been there. Hope you have some help with the layout.
  20. Brian have you got the photo of D6327 from the other side? I saw this on the back cover of Strathwood's Diesel Hydraulics in the West Country. Also I have seen the new Blue FYE and Blue SYP together at Lord and Butler's model shop in Cardiff and they look the same shade of blue. Don't forget to take the credit for your photo of 6327 which other seem to have just used. And can you confirm if it was Bristol Bath Road Open Day 1970 or 1971? Tony
  21. I ordered one direct from the publisher last week, still no sign of it. I thought it would be hard to obtain but there were loads of them in WHSmith in Cardiff last Friday so i could have bought it then , 4 days ago. I wondered how long delivery has taken on this for others people who have bought direct?
