  1. Awesome work Ray. I look forward to seeing it in it's new guise in February. Mike
  2. Thorburn's now has a new home which means I have a blank canvas! Mike
  3. Would anyone out there like to own Thorburn's? It's time for my next project and rather than store the layout away I'd like to give it away to anyone who can come to Edinburgh and collect it. Mike
  4. Cheers Dave, Haven't built anything for months now but it's still nice to take a few photos now and again when the light's good. Mike
  5. Cheers folks. Trying to get started on a new project soon. Just need to get the motivation. Don't worry though Thorburn's will still be around and I'll be tinkering away as I build the track for the new project. Here's a recent picture.
  6. Having set out along a similar path quite some time ago I really would recommend building an Inglenook. You only need a couple of turnouts and maybe 6" length in P4, depending on what wagons you want to shunt around and what size of turnouts you choose. Although an inglenook doesn't need an fiddle yard to work, there's no reason not to have one. My own P4 inglenook is called Thorburn's and has been an on-going although currently stalled project for a couple of years. Thinking about starting something else soon. Look forward to seeing what you come up with. Mike
  7. I nice morning with plenty of light streaming into Thorburn's yard. Couldn't get the colours just quite right but I'll have a better go at it later. Mike
  8. Scotland in the 90s - hard to beat in my opinion. Mike
  9. This is a great 'model of a railway' which I enjoyed very much at Glasgow. Mike
