  1. Hi all...thanks all for the support.....now things have settled down I am back to the build of Little Marley... I will post some updates as soon as I can...
  2. Hi Branchline, thanks for your query....have not been able to progress the layout at the moment due to my wife who has ms, there has been a bit of an upset and she has had to go in to care so my modelling has been put on hold....as soon as I am able updates will be posted...
  3. Just paid a visit to the new premises of Colletts model shop,a lot bigger with more space, lots of bargains as usual.. well impressed... would recommend a visit, located still in albion street, Exmouth, just a few shops further along....
  4. Thanks jeff ....it certainly does, its about the only 'gardening' i will do...lol
  5. An hours work last nite..... some landscaping and fencing...
  6. Hi Mikkel... its not cork, its the back of the hard foam 10 mm thick tile which supports the landform which i painted brown, these are stuck in place with uhu por glue... i just infill with newspaper and cover with modroc...it gives it a neat back or face as these are on the lifting sections and have no scenic backdrops fitted.. i also use the same against the backboards and in the middle access area to create the landform as it gives a nice shape and lip for the modroc to stick to... some pics...
  7. Hi all.. a little more progress on the bridge this week, fixed to position after applying ballast and sleeper grime to the new curve, a bit of filler for base of farm track to roughen the surface a bit and then covered in some fine beach sand, just letting it dry now so landscaping can continue... and i could not resist.....
  8. COLLETTS MODELSHOP, EXMOUTH....... well done to Leigh Collett for winning best customer service in the exmouth 2017 business awards... well deserved
  9. Hi Ben..think its coloured moss mate... not had much to do with scenery, track and electrickery me...
  10. Had a psx-arsc on my reverse loop n gauge shown on exe valley post.... worked well and can be automated for point or manual selection... this was used on a powercab set up red/black dcc bus supply...l/h is input......r/h will go to loop supply white/blue/orange point motor(seep pm1)...
  11. Hi all... put the bridge project on hold past couple of days to slightly re route the sidings....changing a point from a r/h to l/h and re position to give me longer siding lengths, this has enabled me to double magnet the lengths so now i can uncouple in 2 positions on each of the sidings....nearly there with the ballasting, all electrics/droppers are re connected, and now the landscaping to start ... i can now carry on and finish the bridge
  12. Thanks chris...was on the train from exmouth to exeter and back on wednesday, looking out for brick bridges to give me ideas... some unusual looks from people watchin me pressed up to the window tryin to get a better look.... lol

  14. Hi all... a little more progress, mainly getting the bridge painted and weathered, spent the afternoon highlighting the mortar and mould and then airbrushing the smoke staining.... now it can be fixed to position and landscaped in... quite pleased how its turned out

  16. Hi all some progression pics as requested.... scratch built by one of the members... st James park stn... 72A shed... a bit of modellers licence here, reduced the number of lanes down because of space restrictions still lots of work to do.....
  17. Hi all....a bit of fine tuning with CV's works wonders with this model.... it does make you wonder how many locos...and not just the DJ class 14xx have been returned so called faulty? when they just need a cv tweak on dcc.....
  18. Yes Keith..it is a wills kit but used wills brick sheet as well to make longer retaining walls...
  19. Hi all.. managed a few hours landscaping today, finished off the modroc covering on the embankments and blended in the retaining walls...also gave it a bit of a coat of brown base ...just need to get some more earth mix base scatter, not as much in the tub as i thought .... at the moment the bridge can be removed to allow access to do the scenics and ballasting,at some stage will be fixed permanently... ...
  20. Yes them holes.. the pic of hilux5972 post shows a whistle guard fitted why not the hattons 1420... should or could this have been fitted or at least included in the detail bag? can see a whistleguard.....?
  21. Hi eddie....will sort more pics to show...still wiring and have just laid the track for the shed(72A)..with a bit of modellers licence as space was short..
  22. Hi all ...new addition to Little Marley... DJ models class 14xx, nice model and a smooth runner... a vast improvement compared to the airfix/Dapol/Hornby models.....
  23. Hi all... just received my long awaited GWR logo class14xx..... not going to bitch about wonky plates, wrong wheel dimensions crap running or other blah, blah, blah, faults and rivet counter bitching which every model rail model produced has at least one error within them... i think DJ models/Hattons has made a cracking representation of this model.. runs sweet, nice and slow creep and well produced, even down to including where the detail parts go with instructions.. a first .. other manufacturers need to take note! very happy with the new addition for Little Marley...
  24. Thank you.. Thank you...
