I like trains of all sorts but particularly steam from all over the world. Yes this is an English site but there are many steam locos in the world and different ways of doing things. I don't like rivet counters and I don't consider myself as an anorack as we don't have them in Australia.
I also like Ford Australia's Falcons.

About Me

I'm in my 50's and I love garden railways in smaller scales (OO/HO)

I was born in the twilight years of the steam age and by the time I was aware of what a steam loco was they'd all gone from everyday service.

I like trains from all over the world but particularly British Steam trains. I have been to the UK twice in 2000 and 2007 and marvel at what has been achieved by so much hard work on the part of preservationist.

I like how so many lines in the UK are in private hands unlike here where the state governments own nearly everything and jealously guard it.

In the UK it is commonplace to have volunteers crewing steam locos but here that doesn't happen because it's forbidden. I also like the mainline tours in the UK where steam locos actually work whereas here diesels do much of the work by push from the rear as soon as a slight grade is encountered.

For employment I work for my local council as a full time facility cleansing officer, which is a grand title for a public bog cleaner. I've been doing it for over 12 years and for me it's good as I work in my local area close to home.
