  1. I don't think the answers above answer the question about very distinct siren that used to sound on the railway presumably to alert track workers of an oncoming train or maybe of a signal failure?. This for me was on the West Coast main line going through Willenhall on the up line to Coventry in the mid 1970s, coming from a grey signal cabinet with a loudspeaker siren on the top was a very loud "high, low, high, low" (repeating) sound and this siren went on for hours and hours one Sunday afternoon. I for one had not heard anything like it before but as I couldn't see anyone on the track and the signals were at red I automatically assumed that there was some sort of problem with the lights. This was the one and only time I'd heard that siren and I remember it as a kid because I lived next to the track and played on that line for hours so you could say I was familiar with the line. I've always wanted to know what that was actually for? as have other people, then sometime around the mid 80s the loudspeaker siren had disappeared from the top of the box. I also remember it was around this time that the signal telephone had been replaced from the fixed type to a 3 pin plug in type so kids like me couldn't mess about with it. So can anybody please get to the bottom of this loudspeaker siren that was on top of the grey signal cabinet box which you can just about see in the attached picture... Many Thanks.
  2. Class 390 Virgin Pendolino RED & SILVER livery - exterior coach letter graphics needed please. Please forgive me if this has been listed in the wrong place. Hello, I wonder if anybody can help me. I'm looking for close up images of the exterior coach letter graphics that are placed at the coach doors. White letters A to U in red and blue boxes with a grey surround. If anyone has one of these stickers that I'm able to take a copy of, or if you know where I can obtain a sticker, or the images of these, I would be extremely grateful. I need all 11 letters and there surrounds if possible, so that's coaches and running cars, Many Thanks.
  3. Thanks for uploading your pictures again it will really be a great help, I hope that I do it as good as you had done, couldn't do it without you, thankyou mate.

  4. Hornby's virgin charter relief mk3 coach wheels are very bad for a lighting connection to the track, what are the best wheels to change too so that a positive power connection can be made?, I think that the wheels are brass or copper because they turn a green colour. Many thanks.
  5. Hello. Can anyone tell me please if there is a CV for the tail lamp Brightness on the 39-700DC BR MK2F BSO Brake Second Open Blue & Greym DCC coach as this is far to dim?, many thanks. Chris.
  6. Wow, that's looking really good. Can't wait to see the rest of the detail on that.
  7. What a nice build, are you going to try and put lights in and on it?. I'm having a Class 310 made by Britannia Pacific models and he doesn't want to get involved in the lighting issue which means I'm gonna have to try and figure out a way to lighting it to try and make it look better but I wouldn't be able to do the Domino head code and the destination blinds Just purely because of the way that he makes his models. Kind regards, Chris.
  8. Hi, I have a Bachmann MK2F with DCC lighting (39-700 DC), the lights worked when first put on the track and now won't work for some reason, how can I test or see if the coach led lights have blown?, and can these LED's on a circuit board blow ??, many thanks. Chris.
  9. Hi, would anyone know how to or how easy it may be to renumber the new Heljan Class 86/0 and what would be the best thing for taking the numbers off without ruining the loco ?, thanks.
  10. Can anyone help me locate some oxford diecast dennis rs fire engine door mirrors please as oxford diecast don't do spare parts or something that can be used in place of either plastic or etched metal will be fine, thanks very much.
  11. Hello everyone, I'd like to ask a question, if there are any pylon makers that would like to take on making me a pylon and 1:76 scale either using Hornby pylon parts which I can supply new and unused or build from scratch please get in touch so that I can discuss this possibility with you, I have tried to make a pylon using Hornby parts in a way to try and fashion my own pylon but I'm not happy with the result which is why I'm now asking the question to the wider pylon community for some help, many thanks, Chris.
  12. could you help me with a problem please?, I have a Hornby class 86 R2290A and I'm trying to find out if they had 3 pole or 5 pole motors as I don't know, would you know and if not how could I find out??, I believe the loco came out in 2002. Thankyou. I've since found out that they had ringfield motors but that does help any - are they 3, 5 or nothing at all, many thanks.
  13. thankyou philou for your welcome and njee20 for your comments.
