  1. Hello all, I have tried to fit a Hatton's Barclay with the above combination. Pre-installation I cleaned track and wheels, loco ran well on DC, then installed MX617 with 1100UF of capacitance. Followed the guidance, checked SACC was correctly soldered and connections to decoder were as shown on MX617 spec. Loco ran fine in one direction but 'spluttered' a bit in the reverse. Two or three attempts along short test track and the decoder was dead. Thinking I had made a mistake somewhere I used a second decoder with a second SACC16. Same again. Two decoders down and spirit broken! Incidentally, I observed the same performance from a DJ models saddle tank with a DCC models Zen decoder with its stay alive. That is still working (thank goodness) but occasionally it has a burst of speed for a second then reverts to running at setting speed. Not quite what I was hoping for. Any help with the Zimo issue would be most welcome. Undeterred, I thought I might try a third decoder with a third SACC16 but prior to fitting to a loco this time test it out on the Zimo TAPS. I have a problem, however, finding where to connect the SACC to the TAPS board. There looks to be two solder connections and an LED but I cannot find any guidance as to whether or not this is where to solder the SACC16. Caution dictates that I seek the wisdom of this group before possibly writing off a third MX617 and, who knows, a TAPS at the same time! Any help would be very much appreciated. Sorry, I appreciate that there are two questions here but obviously directly related. Bob
  2. Hello John, the images A latecomer to this most interesting and enjoyable thread. Most inspirational. One query; from your post of 13 March 2017 I cannot open the jpegs.. Is this a problem at my end or is it more general? Bob
