  3. Just found out I'm getting a lump of cashback off my rent. The question now is do I a) be sensible and spend it on life etc. or b) more trains...

  4. It keeps trying and failing to snow, but knowing my luck it will probably go full-on blizzard when I go out running this evening...

All the more reason not to go out running, surely?

    3. truffy

      truffy

Does one actually NEED a reason to not go out running?

  5. Isn't having a big coffee after the all night essay session the wrong way round?

    1. beast66606

      beast66606

Yes - you should have had a big essay after an all night coffee session

    2. Huw Griffiths

      Huw Griffiths

      Hopefully not too much coffee.

You don't want trouble shaking off all the caffeine (or with the shakes).

  6. Can I afford a sentinal and a Barclay? Do I buy one, both, neither? Oh the decisions!

  7. Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited about going to the GCR model event tomorrow. The 8.30 bus out of Victoria less so...

I'd like to go, but I'm occupied in Yorkshire. Next year, maybe.

  8. I've decided the worst thing about staying up all night to write an essay is that after a certain time, all social media outlets just stop having anything new on them to distract me!

      eastwestdivide

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Simple solution is have friends all overthe world. When the UK is asleep Australia is going to work and America is at home :)

  9. This uni malarky involves a lot of reading doesn't it

  10. So today's scientific exercise was working out the width of seats in coach interiors by measuring the width of model men's rear ends!

Let it never be said that I don't attempt to be accurate with my models!

  11. Just managed to lose a Narrow Planet number plate 2 hours after it arrived. Bother

I bet it has landed face down, which is why you can't see it - it's probably camouflaged against the colour of the laminate.

Its attached to your sleeve after you ran your hand over the floor - like the vac hose I lost 2 nights ago.

  12. Owing to my inability to focus on one task for more than half an hour, I currently have an ex-LNER sentinel railcar on my desk called 'Ian'. I'm very tempted to leave it that way!

    1. PhilEakins

      PhilEakins

Why is your desk named 'Ian'?

    2. Frappington Jct

      Frappington Jct

      The railcar, not the desk!

      bgman

I had a mate called Ian, he went off the rails too !

  13. Now, I don't profess to be an expert in the design and manufacture of resin loco body kits, far from it, but surely common sense would dictate that you check that the coupling rods on the RTR chassis that you supply the kit with don't come into conflict with a rather thin and important part of the body that you can't really reduce in thickness and really can't remove? Rant over

  14. Has spent the evening building little chairs. Three in fact. In an hour and a half. Out of 20. *Weeps*

  15. Rather irritatingly, the geography essay that I'm currently writing is rapidly becoming a history essay - about which I know I'll get into trouble about - but I have not got the energy to do anything about it...

I don't know why I find that amusing when it clearly isn't ... but I did snigger.

  17. Rather scarily, if you put "oo guage gnr K2" into Google, my build thread is second after the DJH website. I really hope no-one has used my work as an example or point of reference for anything!

  21. Could someone please check that I've done my maths right and that in 1:76, 7ft = approx 28mm and 6ft 6in = approx 26mm?

Stiff. rock them on and off in a diagonal pattern. Once they are worked on and off, they should go on easily enough and be secured with the nuts.
