  1. Thats incredible ..... im gob smacked ,,,, if I got that far it would be a glass case by now,,, Boy O boy every time a look at another layout there is something amazing ,,,, making your own turnouts ???? awesome ...
  2. I couldn't agree more,,, I have seen some inspirational tinny layouts, but im still jealous of having a nice big space where you can model in double OO as well, and it must be wonderful to have that bit more freedom and room to work ,,, (im kneeling on the floor in the lounge) and yes when I see some of the stuff on here tinny little details im just blown away,, but I still think your both doing a fantastic job and have enjoyed catching up on your threads and videos etc. Many thanks ,,, Alan
  3. Fantastic video and tour around your layout ,,, amazing,,, that's a huge space you have,,, and by the sounds of it a story line to every corner. When I see stuff like this I often fear my two lines passing a rural station is going to be lacking enough interest. But congratulations to the both of you on a huge amount of work. Alan
  4. Hi Dave ,,, Just been looking at your Loco modelling, im no expert obviously but I can recognize superb craftsmanship and countless hours of patience work when I see it, I would love to have a go at proper loco model engineering,,,, there must a huge personal satisfaction when you achieve and finish some of the above. Totally Inspiring. incredible work.
  5. Love how you plaster the track and burry the sleepers,,,, extremely effective. many thanks for the instructions ,,, great stuff,
  6. I left a similar time ago ,,, and went back a couple of years back and as you say parts unrecognizable, all the old Stanley Royd mental hospital that I lived opposite to,, completely wiped away ,,, and some parts a real dump.
  7. Hi there sorry Tony how stupid of not to consider the time period before opening my mouth,,, just that to me Wakefiled is not Wakefield without the power station, although thats an over personalized view point that only relates to my growing up years really,,, as for the photos I only joined last week and was not sure about all the copyright warnings your told about hence why I just pasted the links so they could be viewed on flicker,,, Looked at your videos as well ,,, very very good, I hope I can get half as close to the realism you create. Cheers Alan
  8. Outstanding job ,,,I am very impressed, I grew up in Wakefield , It was fabulous at Ing's Road school with the line passing right by (and almost over) the school on the 99 arches viaduct, spotting at Westgate Kirkgate and out near Wakefield Heath common near the shed,,, Perhaps you could consider the almost iconic outline and structure that dominated the sky line was Wakefield power station, it screamed Wakefield whether approaching by rail or road, just wondered whether it could be found a place in one of the back drops Cheers Alan https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2712/4355019124_0d8f1b5aab_z.jpg?zz=1 https://c1.staticflickr.com/7/6190/6042780551_370ec7f87b_z.jpg
  9. Hi There Alistair,,, Signed up a few days ago, only to find I was already registered, DERRRRR and I have only just found you. Just been catching up on your thread, and everything was looking good until I came across Rover sat on the wall, like someone else above I thought for a second it was a photo-shop job ,,,, Cat litter meets Oxford Diecast ,,, WOW that must have been scary, but the main thing is your both alright,,, bless her hart it must have shaken the little one up even so,,, It may be a dent in the wallet but just Remember The best "Things" in life,,,, are not "THINGS" Loving how Bakewell as come on and all the detailing you have been doing,,, still amazed at the urinal,,,, and i still need to check out all those chaps you say put you in the shadows. (I have just put an introduction up until I get to grips with the site and where your supposed to post stuff) Cheers Alan
  10. Incredible,,,,, the muddy patch behind the land rover, how you have got the tussocky grass in the field behind ,,,, I just dont know ,,,, just incredible ,,, (Alan)
