As a couple of years have passed since the question was last asked, does anyone know if Heljan are considering a third run of Class 28's? Given that the second release was about six or seven years after the first one it's now around the same amount of time after the second release. They seem to be readily snapped up on the occasions they appear on E-bay so presumably there must be still some demand for them.

Rather than heresy I'd suggest gentle upgrade in keeping with the HD tradition. I'd be more than happy with something like this in my collection. Great job.

This was the last one from a very poorly stocked stand at Nottingham Show years ago that I've just found in my kit stash. I've not seen any more since which is a pity because I wanted to build a few to add a little variety to my rake of HD versions. Kind Regards, Cliff.

Saw this on tv the other evening. Made a welcome change from all the doom and gloom that seems to pervade the BBC lately.

I've often thought this in recent times. Especially after just watching the BBC news. Mind you, Sky and ITV are not much better either.

At one time, many years ago and not knowing any better, I would give Dublo mechanisms a liberal coating of WD40. After a little running in they would go like the proverbial 'bat out of hell' and also the slow running would be much improved and they're all running fine to this day although my servicing standards have improved since then. Don't think I'd be inclined to use WD40 on anything more recent though. Regards, Cliff.

I quite agree. I'm totally fed up with the broadcast news. It seems to have become very Americanised in recent years in that they can make losing a hubcap on the M25 a major event requiring 24 hour wall to wall coverage. Here's one I put together some years ago using parts from both the Airfix and Parkside kits. Regards, Cliff.

I used Parkside's PA09 BR 10ft underframe kit together with my preferred Romford wheels. It's a very nice kit although I found the tie bars a little fragile. If I remember I also added new coupling hooks and metal buffer heads from 51L. Some Liquid Gravity was used to add a little weight and Bachmann couplings finished the job. I've always liked the old Airfix kits. Here's some vans I put together a few years ago on Parkside underframes and Romford wheels together with a few other bits of detailing.
