  1. So impressive, it makes me want to cry over my own inadequacies. A friend of mine, who used to live in Northumbria, and I were on a business trip to Canada, and we latched on to a tour of a forest (or something that I can't remember). As the tour guide pointed out that the trees were almost a thousand years old, Mike turned to me a grinned "oh, so almost as old as Whitby Abbey then!"
  2. This is really helpful, thank you. I had considered plywood, but am concerned about splintering. Do you finish off your baseboard in such a way as to avoid this?
  3. But if you know you don't need the magnetic uncoupling feature, is there a better alternative to the Kadee in the first place? I'm primarily interested in close running Hornby Maunsell coaches. Fixed sets, no decoupling needed (other than by 'the hand of God').
  4. How can they tell that it's gray grey...the photo is all shades of grey.
  5. Not wishing to impede your crust-making (so feel free not to answer!), but doesn't the use of spray matt varnish 'fix' the weathering powders? I was considering powders for my next weathering project, but if they're still labile after fixing, I might just go back to good old paint!
  6. Interesting. I wonder what the buy-rate is? Couldn't find details easily on their site. I'm casually interested in selling some surplus stock, and an upcoming trip to NE England might be preferable to flea-bay.
