  1. A short running session on 00 Micro Layout - Fry's Somerdale featuring the Hardy's Hobbies Fry's Sentinel in her new fully lined out livery, edited with Real Sound. The model is based on the same design of Sentinel locomotive that was used at the Fry's Somerdale Chocolate Factory in Keynsham, which was recently restored to full working order on the Avon Valley Railway, near Bristol in 2019, turned out in Fry's Royal Blue with Gold Leaf insignia. Constructed from the new 3D Printed Body Kit from Hardy's Hobbies, the model fits directly onto a Hornby Ruston chassis, with no modification neces

    Farish new 8F

A short running session featuring the all new Graham Farish Stanier 8F 2-8-0, edited with real sound provided by fellow Class members, recorded during visits to various preserved railways over the years. Here we see 48608, finished in BR Early Black hauling a short goods train. Hope you enjoy!
  4. Thanks! Hopefully I'll be able to get those colours right. This is what I've done so far. Both sides are nearly complete, however, I'm currently adding in the stonework. The main side that will be seen on the layout is closest to the fields, as if your looking across to the houses on the side of the hill. I've been looking at a number of photos online, but most are too grainy (especially to the left side) to see where the stone was used. If anyone had any photos they can share that would be of great help (The last picture is a guess looking at the images I have, it's
  5. Hi all, just stumbled across this topic. I too am currently planning a layout in OO based on Lyncombe Vale, and have just started construction of my representation of Watery Bottom Viaduct, which will form the centre piece to the build. I'm heavily modifying three Wills Brick Arch Bridge kits to form the structure, though not 100% I hope to capture the look and feel of the viaduct as close as possible (Like much of the planned layout I've had to condense the scene down a bit to get it to fit the room, but hopefully I'll be able to pull it off). I've just purchased a load of
  6. 21st - 22nd November 2020 would have seen the Thornbury & South Gloucestershire Model Railway Club host their annual Model Railway Exhibition, at Thornbury, South Gloucester. However, like many Model Railway Exhibition around this year, the event had to sadly be cancelled. So to mark the occasion, I've picked some of my favourite layouts from previous years to create this special Wincanton Model Railway Exhibition highlights video, showcasing a wide selection of amazing model railways, in a variety of scales and gauges. All being well, the show hopes to return bigger and better than
  7. A short running session featuring the highly anticipated Locomotion Models / Rails of Sheffield Stroudley A1 'Terrier' 0-6-0T, No. 82 "Boxhill" edited with real sound. Sounds are provided by a number of similar class members from my sound collection, captured at various Gala and Preserved Railways over the past few years. Here we see No. 82 "Boxhill" in stunning LB&SCR Stroudley's Improved Engine Green (as preserved condition) in action, hauling a short rake of coaches. Hope you enjoy!
  8. Spotted that too. I'm hanging fire on a purchase for now, until the parts are listed. Just in case
  9. Welcome to the second instalment on the construction of the Railway Room. Over the past few weeks there's been plenty of progress on the room with the new lighting and storage units having been fitted into position. The majority of my micro layout have also now arrived, taking pride of place on their custom selves, including Amiens 1918, Argonne Forest & Basin Road, along with a number of my tools and modelling materials. In this update we take a closer look at these new additions to the room, as well as a sneak peak at some soon to be released models currently on my workbench for Ra
  10. Fry's Somerdale Sentinel construction article to feature in the December 2020 Issue of Railway Modeller! The step by step guide follows on from my recent 'Plan of the Month' article on the Somerdale site, which featured in the October 2020 Issue of the magazine. In the article I show you how I created the locomotive from a Hardy's Hobbies 3D Printed body kit, including adding the new lining kit from Railway Mania. The magazine is on sale from the 12th November 2020. Hope you enjoy!
  11. A short running session to mark Remembrance Sunday, and remember all those who have served and fallen, including the many brave men and women who served on the railways during times of conflict. To mark the occasion, I've put together this short running session featuring a number of clips of my 009 WW1 Trench Railway - Amiens 1918, as well as a slideshow featuring a selection of locomotives from my Railway Operating Division fleet. "At the going down of the Sun, we will Remember them".
  12. 7th - 8th November 2020 would have seen the fourth Annual Wincanton Model Railway Exhibition held at King Arthur School, Wincanton, Somerset. All being well, the show hopes to return bigger and better than ever next year! Hope you enjoy!
  13. Working on an edit which will feature the model chuffing (Hopefully some of my real sound files of a 3F will be a close enough match).
  14. A short running session on 00 Micro Layout - Fry's Somerdale featuring my Bachmann British Rail Class 08, 08935 edited with Real Sound. In this video we see the 08 shunting deliveries into the Somerdale site, before returning with load vans of produce. Sounds are provided by fellow Class members recorded during visits to various local preserved railways over the years. Hope you enjoy!
  15. Indeed! Feel SDJR stock is very much over due, especially with the popularity of the livery and the number of RTR models in SDJR too, compared to say LNWR (referring to number of RTR locos on the market) which is a livery due to be released in the first batch...
