  2. At the end of last year I started work on an extension to the layout
  3. Heres an introduction to the Deepdale Garden Railway with an overview of the layout from last year 🙂 All the track and buildings are scratch built and the locos are a mix of kit and scratch built and all are battery remote controlled

  6. I couldn't put my finger on why the wheels didn't look quite right till I looked at a photo and realised it's the massive counter weights have yet to be added 🙂
  7. A long overdue update but it seems my photos haven't survived the forum update! Here's a video of the progress so far. The track on the elevated boards is literally just sat in place currently so will be fixed down once I'm happy with it
  8. This discharge curve of a cap is going to screw you over unless you have some sort of boost converter to regulate the voltage
  9. In the steelworks it appears to have been late 70s/early 80s
  10. So why did the 08s have hatches in the cab roof and ladders up the radiators? What was the actual requirement to be accessed up there so much so both ladders and a roof hatch were provided?

      For reference, I dont use any Ad blocker, and hardly see any ads!  I am using Apple Safari if it helps.

  12. Flangeway are producing their snowplough in O gauge, I've already registered interest in a pair of them
  13. Another 08 on the bench for radio/battery conversion And think I've finalised the track plan for the other side of the garden
  14. I've also been testing a new board for Fil of Fils Battery Trains which works great! Reed switch stuck on the side switches the power on and off so when the roof is placed on the batteries are in circuit Did some speed testing with a 3 lipo cells
  15. I found one of the new sections had a bit of a dip in it so roughed it all up and recasted screed to bring it back up to level Plenty of SBR to hopefully get absorbed into the screed https://youtu.be/CkRmiQerKeI

After more concreting I thought it was a good idea to get some track down temporarily and do some testing with another Dapol Class 08 I converted to radio control today I also removed the unprotected lipo from the Class 20 and made up a higher capacity replacement from individual protected cells
