God heavens fly tipping on Little Muddle. I wouldn't stand for that if I were you. You'll have to clamp down hard on this. Next thing you know there will be umbrellas being left and.......
crates not being emptied!

I am sure J3189 is correctly captioned, but amusing that not a point in sight.

If you look very carefully you will spot part of a point in the top left hand corner of the photo.
I had to look three times before my eyes and brain spotted it.

Not sure I believe in coincidence. I think the panniers are planning something and are up to no good.
Panniers are never up to no good, they are always good.

I can see another error in the plan - that engine shed has got two doors!
The engine shed has two doors, just that recently one of them has not been on the hinges!

I have been following this thread for over six months and have often wondered what the full layout plan is. Tonight I went back to page one and found mention that you could not find the original plan but intended to draw a new one. Having looked at the first four pages of the now 721 pages I have not found it. So could I ask which page the plan finally appeared on or could you repost it, whichever option is easier for you @KNP. Many thanks for the inspiration you give all every day.

Looks splendid, pity about the B Set hanging on the back. Look forward to something more appropriate 😁
That is not a B set as the first coach does not have a brake compartment.

I know this may seem political but please note I am not blaming a particular political party just making a general observation about how politics seems to work.
Has anybody else noticed that as we move closer to a general election all of a sudden there is lots of talk about the Bakerloo extension and railway openings around the country. As usual the present government will not be faced with the bill but that is something I have seen throughout my life with governments of all parties. Sadly rail transport suffers from the fact that upgrades take a lot longer than the politicians in charge are in office and therefore they often do not see any benefits for themselves.
We can only hope that our political system can sort out the problem of long term projects with short term political terms.

I want to build some mock ups of the buildings and wondered what card I should use. Would the card used on parcels etc be okay or world someone recommend something better?
Cornflakes boxes always used to be mentioned years ago. I can't think of anything better. Good luck.

In 1957 just before my third birthday we moved into the only house my parents ever owned! They both died in old age and I sold it a year after my father's death. At the bottom of the garden was the District line just south of Southfields station. That line had and still has National Rail trains as well as the Underground service. My first night soon after bedtime I was found with my nose against the bedroom window as a steam hauled freight train went past. I was hooked from that moment on trains. My father was a sports fan and we went everywhere by train to watch such sports as football, rugby, speedway, stock cars, cricket and ice hockey. My grand parents lived in Manchester and we visited them at least twice a year for a few days which meant a nice journey outside the day trips we did almost every weekend. In 1971, 72 and 73 I used an All-line Rover and covered most of the railways that were open at that time. Still love trains and regularly spend time on heritage lines as well day trips for fun around the country.

A final view of 78019 as the 2010 departure left Eridge.
The weather was never great but the trains ran to within 10 minutes of right time all day and with all the engine changes on each trip up and down the line I had a very enjoyable day out.

I am spending the day on the Spa Valley Railway for the second day of their three day Winter Steam Gala.
The weather was cold but dry when I left home but it started to rain soon after I arrived at Eridge.
BR Standard Class 2 2-6-0 No. 78019 at Eridge
BR Standard Class 4 2-6-4T No. 80078
Caledonian Railway 812 Class 0-6-0 No. 828
Andrew Barclay 0-4-0ST No. 2315
SR Battle of Britain Class 4-6-2 No. 34072 running as No. 34066 Spitfire
More to follow.

You really must get out more! I suggest visits to at least four or five local model shops to enlarge your collection.

Always a good idea. Hoping to acquire one myself in the not too distant future. Still can't decide on a Dapol or Minerva one though. They both look like great models.
Get two of each is the best idea!

North Devon you could find a Westcountry with a single Maunsell brake second...

I have a Gaugemaster Combi controller and three BR Genesis coaches on pre order. Had an email a couple of days after the closure announcement saying the controller would be removed from the order for obvious reasons but to date it is still showing as a pre order and I don't intend to cancel it until Hattons cancel it themselves.
In all this I just feel very sorry for the staff who are being made redundant. I hope they all find good replacement jobs quickly.

I do wonder if there will be an announcement of the Cumbria mountain express next Saturday which will the first WCRC operated railtour since the judicial decision

Nothing on real train times yet either
Mike
Well the train ran but was around an hour late leaving Euston in the morning and 45 minutes late leaving Carlisle. It arrived 29 minutes late at Preston and currently (21:21) is still alongside platform 4 at Preston. Not a happy day for Railway Touring Co or WCRC.

I was guard on one of that coaches trips along the line with the crane. It was a fairly rough ride and the inside of the coach made the outside appear brand new! I don't think any of the windows were plated over, just painted.
