  1. My pal overheard a conversation at the Spalding Exbn last weekend. Brake tenders available at Warley show at £28 Mmmmmm.???????
  2. I know its important to get things right from a detail point of view...but I sometimes feel that because of criticism earlier in the thread about the proposed model, that the guys at Hornby mag are fearful of releasing anything less than perfect because of the bad press that might then follow. I suggest that 90% of folk out there might accept something pretty close, they wouldn't know the differences, I'm one of those, but there are those more discerning who can then get stuck in and detail/amend accordingly. Bob
  3. And if mine wasn't away for weathering at present, it would be on its first passenger service tonight.......I reckon it was on the Pines in the video. Each time I look at the clip, it looks as if there are a set of driving wheels missing...??
  4. Guys.......have a look at this video clip I found on you tube. What is the loco that appears at exactly 46m15s......it looked like a Crosti....but is it,??? Bob
  5. Your a star Kev. Worked straight away......thanks everso much, saved me typing each one out again. Where would I be without the help from friends and colleagues here on RMweb. All I've got to do now is break it to the wife that its on her ipad. Many thanks....................Bob
  6. Hi Paul I have successfully put "TOUCHCAB" onto the ipad this morning.....but of course it lacks any of the loco stack that is on my iPhone. Its that info I'm wondering if I can easily copy over.?? Bob
  7. Remind me please someone. I have touchcab on iPod and iPad, and want to put it on my wife's iPad. She doesn't know yet. Can I transfer all loco info to the iPad, or is a long typing job putting each loco in again.?? Bob
  8. Perhaps just email Hornby Mag and ask for the details...??? I have one on order, but cant find my email, I've had two computers since the tender was announced.....3 years ago now. But 3 years isn't long these days I suppose. I find that after a couple of years my excitement and anticipation begins to fade.!!
  9. Hi Jamie. Many thanks...that's the first time I've seen a tender first Crosti........excellent. Bob
  10. Stunning.........absolutely stunning......magnificent work. Bob. I should think you are, its incredible....!!!!!!! Bob.
  11. O.M.G.........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ian....see my PM. Thanks Bob.
  12. I'm forever in your debt........thanks Jim. Same again this week on the Tanks Thursday...????
  13. And a toot for me as he passed through Uttoxeter. Nice looking loco Jim. Bob
  14. I agree, the frog juicer is more expensive.............BUT....if you cant get under the layout to fit point motors, perhaps because of your age, or its an older layout been down a few years, then the frog juicer has its place. There are lots of committed wiring folk on here, and I have done my fair share, but the frog juicer for me, just simplified the whole process. I hand operated all my 60+ points for many years, the juicer was a god send. But latterly some of the points are now motorised, but using the long narrow surface mounted point motors fairly easily disguised, but of course with no switch facility for polarity. After all, we are just trying to give the guy the options, he can then make his mind up based on difficulty and cost. Bob
  15. Don't forget you can use a Frog Juicer..!!! Especially if you are intending to hand operate your slip. It's a simple piece of kit, read back a little in this thread.
  16. As you know Jim, I have used Touchcab for some years, and love it too. As long as I have the app does it mean I can keep using it, or will it cease if Jens closes it.??
  17. I have to say that I think this thread has been remarkably low on criticism of the Hornby Railroad Crosti.....and I feel that there has been an acceptance that this was a Railroad model, and just right for the more expert amongst us to take the tool kit to. But would I be right in thinking that the majority of folk might just be very happy to accept the model for what it is, and not make any amendments, perhaps other than having it weathered.?? I would never normally have bought a Railroad model, preferring to have a much more detailed model for the extra money. But I think we all agree that this model is not of the very basic Railroad type, and makes a passable appearance for a decent model in its own right. I'm not going to take a tool kit to my model.....I will have it professionally weathered, but not much else.....but that's a personal thing, others I know will differ. Bob
  18. Guys I am a bit of a fan of running tender first freights on my roundy roundy layout, but don't have or want a turntable. Can anyone point me in the direction of any photos of Crostis in charge of freights but running tender first please. Thanks Bob
  19. Next time I'm in Crewe visiting relations....I'll check to see if you are about. Looking really good Jim.........now have you got some heating sorted so you can continue through the winter months,. Bob.
  20. Mine arrived this evening courtesy of a pal of mine who got it for me from Hattons. It was rapidly chipped with a Lenz Standard decoder and put to the test. Smooth, quiet, and a delight to watch in charge of a freight. Very impressed indeed with this offering from Hornby.....top marks.!!! Bob
  21. Frustrating.!!! I wait with eager anticipation for this model for 2 years, then the model arrived at my pals locally, who has a Hattons account, on the very day I left for a weeks holiday in Wales. The reviews and comments sound great and add to frustration, so really have something to look forward to on my return. Had to satisfy my railway needs with a trip on the Gwili Railway near Camarthen yesterday. Bob
  22. The wording I read on the email from Hattons today said " delivery expected on or after Wednesday 26th August..........its the wording "or after" that makes me smile......???
  23. Thanks for your reply........I note you have only been a member of RMweb for a month or so, We try not to call each other "stupid" in our community, and don't tell each other to "grow up". However, you are new to RMweb, so leave it there and move on. Bob
  24. Anyone suspect another Exeter saga just round the corner.????? I have one on pre order, and are a little disappointed that Hornby see fit to start selling the item themselves, but not shipping to their major retailers at the same time. . . .
  25. I do wonder if demand for the Bulleid diesels is not there, which may have been reflected in the number of pre orders being low. ? I don't see any of the mainstream manufacturers picking this one up either, at least in the foreseeable future. I too noted the update from Chris at Kernow, about his need to visit York to see if drawings were available, all very time consuming and difficult when your trying to run a business. I wish them well with this project which was announced a long time ago now, I worry that it's still a long way off though, a very long way.
