  1. Thanks for the clarification, good to know, had number 8 on order from Day 1 so very much looking forward to it.....
  2. Looking superb, just a small point, should the handrails on 008 be blue, i know they were as built, but this has the later longer cab door handrail? Regards Pete.
  3. Number 5 arrived this afternoon, super impressed with it and well worth the wait, lovely quality box too, but the oversize box it was shipped in didn't have much in the way of packaging leaving plenty of room for the models box to rattle around in, hopefully something that can be looked at for future shipping. Regards Pete.
  4. Fantastic announcement, will wait eagerly for a bog standard banger Blue /1 and an earlier /4 without headlamp etc.....they will come....
  5. E Tickets purchased, looking forward to spending the day lineside........ get some Bar stools available and we'll be sorted!
  6. I knew it would only be a matter of time before someone came up with a much better coupling system, i know they'd still be too low using NEM pockets, but soooooo much better than tension locks, if they come to fruition i'll be buying bag loads....
  7. No rush for the Sets as far as I'm concerned. gives me more time to pay for all the other pre-orders that seem to be arriving on my doorstep weekly at the moment!
  8. Seems rather ironic given all the complaints about the MASSIVE gap down the bodyside on the EP samples.......
  9. Well its good your all being so positive, Blimey!
  10. Thank you so much Mark, your a star, very helpful and i appreciate the effort..... I'll have a drive over when I'm free and see what I can find, I'll add the pics on here if they're worth wile Regards Pete...
  11. just to slightly resurrect this thread, I'm planning to do a site visit to the former exchange sidings just off the main line, i appreciate there wont be much trace now, but i'm hoping to photograph the road bridges etc.... could anyone provide a street name or landmark to head for Also what was the official name for the mainline junction ? Regards Pete.
  12. This is a massive project from a major manufacturer, not to be underestimated, the amount of trouble and expense to produce all variants down to the smallest detail is incredible, we are talking different speedo drives, fuel and water taps, valves etc, things that would have been unheard of only a year or so ago... Bachmann go to the top of the class, Heljan, see me after school.....
  13. I hope the sound is full on, the sound files i've heard so far for the 56 are rather lacking in the Bass throb of these superb machines when working hard under load, difficult to record in preservation etc... fingers crossed...
  14. Yes!! Superb announcement, definitely getting a couple of Romanian BR Blue examples with sound when details are finalised.... Thank you Chaps...Made my Day...
  15. To be fair I never expected any issues when I ordered from Hattons..... So I'm not risking losing out....
  16. Indeed, but is there any guarantee that they will be able to supply??
  17. Yep, just had the dreaded e mail, seems the only guarantee is to order from Hornby direct.......
  18. Well after joining the cancelled club. I caved in and ordered a full set direct, I'm not getting into the politics of Hornby policy etc, But i really don't want to miss out on this iconic model. so for me personally its worth paying a few extra quid to guarantee delivery....
  19. I have a 7 car set on pre order with Hattons, but must admit to ongoing paranoia have ordered the same direct with Hornby, I aint missing out on this! worst case scenario I'll have two sets, worth the expenditure i reckon....maybe a future investment!
  20. BR Blue TOPS 25 duly ordered after losing faith in some of the other Type 2's currently on offer. feels good to support the little Guy....
  21. Surely, the Mother of all layouts shouldn't be hidden under this section, It deserves its own Topic heading, or the very least moving to the layout thread? Regards Pete.
  22. Thanks Mark that's very useful information, appreciate that, must have been entertaining shunting the half rakes between running the main line trains , should make a fun model! Regards Pete.
  23. Thanks very much for the reply. i'm looking to model it in the late 70's so would this era be the same movements? were the sidings opposite the SF long enough for a full rake or were they split requiring double shunting? its hard to tell from the Box diagrams etc
  24. Hi I wonder if anyone out there could shed any light on the working of this junction, it appears that empties were propelled of the main lines, did they come from both directions, did full trains leave in both directions? were the roads opposite the SF long enough for full trains or did they have to be split? any help much appreciated... Regards Pete.
