  1. Good God is that shopping precinct still there? Very 1960's concrete I seem to remember but the Our Price was always well stocked!!!!! So apologies for the delay in posting the video, I was rambling around on the trains in Devon on Friday and have had the weekend with my daughter. Were you held up from Shrewsbury by the local stopper? Apologies for cutting the front cab off sometimes (in the winter especially) I never know whether to follow the wagons for modelling details or the loco, I went with the wagons but then felt it was a short train and tried to catch up with the loco 🤣 Thanks for the tones
  2. Is that the multi story car park in the background in the first picture behind 66735? When I was a kid one of the treats was to go to Aylesbury shopping centre (it did have a good Our Price!!!!) and I always remember looking out from it over the station in the hope of seeing a little class25 stabled in the station over the weekend which was always quite special and away from the normal stuff I would see at Oxford and Didcot. Thanks for the tones this morning, I'll try and catch you later 😎
  3. Hope you are OK Trevor, just missing your updates that's all 🙁
  4. @Melangoose Nigel there are some cracking memories amongst all those pictures, thanks for sharing. Have you digitised all you pictures from back then, if you have what did you find was the easiest way of doing them, standard scanner, scan from negative with some software or did you find a better way?
  5. I always thought the person there looked tough.......never brave enough to try and get it.........Christ if I'd have known you supported Millwall I wouldn't had even thought about it 🤣🤣
  6. @Melangoose and @mallaig1983 I reckon all our paths must have crossed each other. My Saturday was day return to Padd from Oxford on my pocket money. Usually the 11:15 behind a 50, then the first 50 back to Reading, pop into Our Price and buy the rock album of the week and back in time for the 16:30 Padd - Oxford in the hope that to was a 50........ Happy days hey!!!!!
  7. I have a soft spot for Hood, it was my last class 50 out of Paddington on a service train!!!!!! 😎
  8. So if you had a week off, who provided the tones on the cement on Tuesday then? 😁🤔
  9. I was born in 67 in Oxford, sometime in the early 70's (definitely before 76) my Dad took me to the Didcot Railway Centre and in his words "There were all the lovely steam engines and all Adrian did was watch the dirty diesels on the avoiding line to Oxford". I was hooked and my Dad in fairness took me spotting to Oxford, Radley and Didcot pretty frequently especially on summer evenings. Holidays in Teignmouth started in 76, depot trips to London with my Dad in the late 70's/early 80's and then I was off all over bashing 😎
  10. Nice to see some photos Stu, hope all is well 😎
  11. Point taken Phil and Rob..........you both don't like pink 66's.........duly noted 🤣 Firstly I'd like to say that I've had to contact both Accurascale and Revolution Trains in the last month and would like to put on record just how quick and positive their customer support lines have been, a real credit to our hobby in my eyes, thank you. Finally a few randoms tonight, bridge buttresses glued into place How many years has it taken me to get pipes on the front of this? Is there a Dawlish/Dawlish Warren theme going on here? And once again the things that visit the docks is amazing So what people have you all been putting in your Caroline's? Yes I have managed to put some pipes on it 😮
  12. Once again gents many thanks for the feedback it is always appreciated 😎 So a post this time with a slight warning although I'm sure you all know any way. My good friend @Phil Mc has always been on at me to make sure the blinds are shut and no locos or rolling stock are left on the window sill or anywhere where the sunlight gets in. In my typical relaxed style that doesn't always happen and to be fair up til now everything has actually behaved really well especially a Hornby 67 with the Maple Leaf which was on the window sill for months and it still looks and runs perfectly. Sadly with the extension going on last year my attention wasn't the model railway and my pink Hattons 66 was on the edge of the fiddle yard that does get partial daily sunlight............Yep it's faded and I realise it is purely my fault. That said in some ways it's better, I think it might have been perfect if it had of had 2 months less sun, but there you go 🤣 Of course the dilemma now is do I correct the fade, paint and transfers or do I monitor fading the other side more closely and then weather...........roll on the sunlight😎 So as supplied with a reference image After after some sunlight!!!!! No complaints from me as it is my fault but interesting that the sunlight affects some rolling stock a lot more than other 😉
  13. Once again, thanks for the kind words gents, they really are appreciated, I do find Forums much more personable than Facebook groups and so it is always nice to get some thumbs, likes and comments. I was once a member of a Lowered Split Screen VW Forum, there was a wealth of information from both sides of the Atlantic and the banter was great too..........Facebook ultimately killed it and so it is nice to see this Forum buoyant amongst all the competition out there...........but that's enough waffle!!!!! So, as I mentioned a few posts ago my Prodigy Express exploded, well at least the transformer did, low and behold Rails had one of their Advent Calendar deals the following day and so this was duly purchased.........but where should it go. Well ultimately not here But I think here is much better And how much better does it all look with a local programming tack Then it was time for a little play 57305 enters the platform On hire to GWR bringing in the day stock The 08 shunts the sleeper coaches onto the back of the stock And off they go on their way to Paddington Cheers all 😎
  14. I saw you this morning and heard your faint tones BUT as you ran early and in front of the Manchester train on the return I had no plausible excuse to break away from a teams meeting!!!!!! I could see you coming up the line on Open Train Times but the meeting wasn't shifting fast enough. Of course had you been running on time the meeting would have finished 🤣🤣
