  1. For completeness here is the right hand board awaiting the next steps.
  2. Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKQ_sQKBASM
  3. Is it a "SUPER RARE MODEL" though when there's AT LEAST one more of the same livery with wrong wheelsets? I for one would not take someone's money for a faulty item through eBay or anywhere else for that matter. I have been in contact with @RapidoCorbsas you will see and the warranty form has been filled in accordingly. When this fault has been rectified the loco in question will remain in my possession and see regular service.
  4. @RapidoCorbsThank you for the timely acknowledgment. I will fill in the warranty form immediately. Such a shame to see QC flaws on what it otherwise a superb subject and an equally good model. Kindest regards.
  5. Oh dear. After my post of sheer joy yesterday after fitting Alex with sound and stay alive my second 16" arrived this afternoon. This second one was ordered as Arthur, yet what arrived was Alex! I did quite like the idea of having a pair in matching red livery so I decided to unpack it for testing and approval, however it seems that some 16" Hunslets weren't built with a crank axle I know of a friend's Alex which has been fitted with not one crank axle but two.
  6. A VERY long overdue update with more detail to follow as soon as time allows... They have been many additions to the WPL&T fleet in this intervening period and more due to be transferred soon, the foreman (Mr Wrigley) and the loco crews do enjoy their variety of steeds - never knowing what they will be called upon to work with next. This keeps them on their toes which in turn nurtures safe practices (usually!) There has also been an increase in wagon types that are seen at the works. It seems that the Shelby Group are very happy with the income from their limestone speculation as there is still a high rate of investment going on within WPL&T or is it just a way of nefarious activities being shrouded in such a venture in rural Derbyshire?
  7. I have just fitted my "Alex" with DCC sound and stay alive. I was very pleased to find that a decent speaker was chosen for factory fitting, and the running quality is EVEN BETTER than it is on DC - particularly at low speed - perfect for the work the prototype was built for. Well done Rapido. You have made a superb model and long may your industrial theme continue!
  8. Thanks chaps. CV 393 set to 64 has sorted it and the Loco now sounds as it should, very much appreciated.
  9. Evening all. I wonder if any of you good fellows can shed any light on a problem I have. The problem is this:- Zimo MS500 fitted into a Planet Industrials Victory, CV 267 set to value 255 gives a 'chuff rate' of seven per wheel revolution. I have tried altering CV 354 to 0 and 1, done a hard reset etc and all to no avail. This same rate occurs on two different sound projects- namely Paul Chetter's Peckett and Locoman 8f. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.
  10. A question for @pauliebangerif I may. I am struggling to get a decent "chuff rate" for the victory and was wondering if you can offer an insight please? I am using a Zimo MS500 and CV 267 is set too the maximum value of 255 but this still gives a chuff rate of 7 per wheel revolution. And help/information gratefully received. P.S. well done to PI on their debut RTR loco release.
  11. The large 16” Manning Wardle was delivered back to White Peak Limestone and Tarmacadam yesterday after a time on loan to the Calder Vale Mineral Railway. Here she is seen having been offloaded the opposite way around to the other steam locomotives to even out the tyre wear, so the engine movers will have to keep their wits about them on the steep gradient down to the exchange, to avoid the firebox crown being uncovered and dropping a plug-or worse!
  12. Barclay 16” 0-4-0st “Lady Evelyn propels empty hoppers over the weighbridge prior to shunting them for loading, as Barclay 14” 0-4-0st demonstrates a new line of business for the Shelby Group subsidiary White Peak Limestone and Tarmacadam Ltd in the shape of specially selected large pieces of limestone for use in architecture and sculpture.
  13. White Peak’s attendance at the Middleton Railway this weekend is cancelled unfortunately due to the aforementioned repairs not going to plan despite @Rustons best efforts. Consequently major S&T works are now planned.
  14. WPL&T is due to attend the ‘pop-up’ exhibition at the Middleton Railway on the 18th and 19th of September subject to a pretty major repair and some well coordinated teamwork with @Rustongoing to plan! Please do come along and support this fantastic heritage railway and watch White Peak Limestone and Tarmacadam in action for its first outing under its new custodian.
  15. It appears that Grimethorpe No2 is already missing her shed mate as it was very reluctant to start for the morning shift. So much so that the Brush/Beyer-Peacock had to do the first run down to the exchange.
  16. I called on the 2nd of August in the first instance for the order I want to make. I have called again many, many times since and left voicemail messages all with no response. I have also emailed a couple of times but, again, no response. I have ordered from Colin (Alan Gibson) a few times in the past but never had this complete lack of response. As for those who say “give some slack” or “he may be on holiday “ then all I can say it that’s Alan Gibson must be doing some excellent business with someone if the can afford to holiday for over 3 weeks. I sincerely hope that there are no health or personal problems of course but still… Others on here will probably tell me to go to another supplier or walk away if I don’t like it etc, but that’s not going to happen as the parts I need are not produced by any of the other suppliers and I will not walk away from a much needed pastime on the account of a bemoaning so and so. Of course the lack of service doesn’t just hurt the retail customers but also trade customers such as High Level Kits, Judith Edge Kits, Eileens Emporium and many more. If they cannot place and receive orders then, obviously, they won’t be able to sell the products and receive an income from them therefore potentially putting their own business under another financial strain that they can ill afford in the current climate.
  17. So, we “interested “ people in the KR Models iteration of Bellerophon have received an email this afternoon informing us that the order book is now open! Fantastic. But what has happened to the DCC sound fitted version that we were told about? Has it quietly been left off the final order options are are there other plans in the pipeline?
  18. That’s gives a whole new meaning to the term “gummed up”! On a serious point-it never ceases to amaze what these so-called professionals can get away with.
  19. She already knows to stop at Stafford services and then come off the M6 at junction 15 to pick up the A50! I’m sure I’m sur it won’t be long until the rest of the journey is etched forever into her gearbox!
  20. A visit to WPL&T in Derbyshire reveals that yet more motive power has arrived. Namely Hudswell Clarke 204hp 0-6-0 DM and Hunslet 325hp 0-4-0 DH ‘Spearmint’. The Gardner 8L3 engined Hudswell was photographed on the tar tank duty, bringing the fulls in from the BR exchange, over the weighbridge and, finally, propelling them into the discharge road. The Hunslet 325hp machine utilises the well known Rolls-Royce 6CFL power unit and is seen preparing its train of 21t hoppers for loading. The Shelby Group workshop foreman, Mr Wrigley was noted riding on the running plate. A conversation ensued with Mr Wrigley and it turned out that he was in attendance to provide crew training to the WPL&T “engine movers” after getting completely fed up with the regularity and the horrors that his Garrison Lane facility was seeing the quarry locomotives!
  21. @cornelius Thank you for the information and update. 2 Victories have duly been ordered with a very high probability of a third one for future modifications.
  22. Seeing as it’s now after 9pm, @PaulRhB, am I allowed to post or comment? Not that it has anything to do with you anyway but I post as and when my father/family duties allow. There was no demand whatsoever-just a simple statement of fact to the effect that @Ruston’s question deserved a quick (in comparison to what seems the PI norm.) I respectfully refer you to the current thread where @Captain Kernowasked for information over a month ago with no response, as was clearly demonstrated by his additional request 3 days ago, and also a question posed on the 22nd of April on the thread below this one that has still not received any response from the PI folk. From my own personal point of view, I WANT TO BUY ( see what I did there?) products from this company, but, only if I have the necessary details to make an informed decision. You wouldn’t want to but a car, for instance, without knowing if it’s diesel or petrol powered would you? Now, yes, @corneliusdid respond to @Rustonpromptly BUT still did not answer/dodged the question of what the sound file actually is. Yes he said that it is the same one that has been used by Minerva Models but what exactly is that from? Do you get my drift?
  23. This is a very valid question that deserves a timely response in my opinion, seeing as the delivery is relatively imminent ( next few months) also I’d like to know what speaker is likely to be used or indeed what provision is made in the chassis block etc. I’m sorely tempted to order AT LEAST 2 in their various incarnations but the lack of information on the above matters is stopping me from ordering and paying up-front.
