  3. I should have guessed with the Bagnall Avitar
  4. It may be just another stabling point but it is very nice, and very well modelled. Also being set in the green period is different from the many modern image layouts. I also have built a stabling point I the same period called “Margaret Street” over the last lockdown period. By the way I also live in Stone, Staffs Terry
  5. Looking on what’s on offer prior to the Stafford exhibition means you won’t getting out of bed very early till February 2022 Thanks for your continued support. Terry
  6. Just waiting for confirmation of a couple more layouts to add to the 2022 Exhibition list. Terry
  7. I will have a look at the exhibition floor plan. Are you DCC Terry
  8. I agree but as I had some suitable western region stock that ran in the BR period I decided to run it post -nationalisation Perhaps when the piggy bank is in a better state a good idea for the future. Terry
  9. In the coming weeks photos of layouts attending the 2022 Stafford Railway Exhibition to be held at Bingley Hall Stafford County Showground So I’ll start with my layout Camel Quay……. Arrival at Camel Quay after a long journey from Waterloo on a summer Saturday in 1961

  11. UPDATED 1st October 2021 THE INFORMATION YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR……… Stafford Railway Circle 2022 Exhibition 5th & 6th February 2022 BINGLEY Hall (New Larger Venue) Stafford County Showground Weston Road Stafford OPENING TIMES: SAT 10.00 - 5.00pm - SUN 10.00 - 4.30pm ADMISSION: Adults £12.00 Concessions £12.00 We have confirmed our date for 2022 which will be the usual first weekend in February at our normal venue of the County Showground in Stafford. Over the last 10 years or so of utilising the exhibition space at the Showground we have grown the exhibition from using just one of the three halls to the present situation of using all of them. We have been aware that growth in numbers attending has risen considerably, such that it is now time to move into the larger Bingley Hall. Our biggest ever show with 45 layouts and 35 traders presently booked with more to be added. Our usual demonstrators area and club stands will be present. We are conscious of needing to spread the gangways so that crowding can be alleviated and our extra space (Potentially 60 per cent more!) will enable us to do this. There is a restaurant within the hall situated on the gallery level with a lift available if needed. There could well be a bar as well but this is to be confirmed later. Much larger toilet facilities are available. There will be a free bus service from Stafford Railway station as in the past. Plenty of free parking as well. 12. Mud or no mud Snow or no snow We have a great exhibition lined up. Watch this space Terry
  13. Thanks for the update. Likewise I always seem to have more projects on the go than time available. Look forward to future developments. Managed to go to my first model railway exhibition yesterday in south Birmingham since March 2020 Well done Bournville club, it was great to see many old faces and catch up on the gossip. A most enjoyable few hours including two members layouts from Stafford Railway Circle on there first exhibition outings for what seems a age. Terry
  14. We are not sure what the situation is regarding the bar as it is run by the caterers. Arrangements are in hand for a meeting with the new caterers in the next couple of weeks (they are presently very busy with the catering for the County Show next Wednesday & Thursday) Terry
  15. I feel that may be a possibility - watch this space. Terry
  16. STAFFORD RAILWAY CIRCLE EXHIBITION UPDATE 5th & 6th FEBRUARY 2022 The exhibition team had the opportunity earlier this week to have a good look around Bingley Hall Stafford facilities. This was just to make sure there had been no changes to the building against the plans we had been given. For those people who that have not been to Bingley Hall a little bit of information. Bingley Hall on the Stafford County Showground is used for many large events in the North Midlands. ITS BIG I am old enough enough to have seen such bands as Led Zeppelin, Emerson Lake & Palmer and Rod Stewart play there in the 70s so as you can imagine somewhat larger than our our previous halls. The visit gave us the opportunity to check out where all the power points are, lighting and even check out the WiFi and signal strength out which was good. Having the exhibition in one very large hall and balconies will make it a lot easier for all concerned. Full washrooms and toilet facilities level access, free car parking for all with a disabled parking area. We will be running our preserved bus service from Stafford Railway station to the exhibition on both Saturday & Sunday as in previous years. The other mayor benefit is of course the vast increase in floor area which gives us the opportunities for much wider gangways between the exhibits, plus high ceilings for improved air circulation. Even more exhibition space on the balcony together with a larger catering area. A public telephone and a service lift for the disabled between the ground and balcony floor. Still unfortunately no cash machine, but as most people now tend to pay by card not really a issue. My understanding is we will have 45 layouts attending together with all our regular traders etc A dedicated area for demonstrators will be on the balcony. There may be some additional trade spaces available. The above is of course subject to any government covid regulations at the time. As for deeper snow, let’s hope not……. All for now Terry Stafford Railway Circle
  17. Just a short update on the Stafford Railway Circle Exhibition 5th & 6th February 2022 We will be updating our club website with details of layouts and traders booked as in previous years in the next couple of weeks. Regards Terry Robinson Stafford Railway Circle
  18. It’s booked and planned to go ahead, but it obviously depends on what happens in the next couple of months with the covid and of course government and venue restrictions. So fingers crossed Terry
  19. Well with no Warley to go to in 2021 we will all be able to watch Andy inspire us with the the building another new layout. At least till the end of September. Watching with keen interest a china clay layout in set in the 21st century, as as against my layout Camel Quay set in the 1960s Good luck with the new exciting project. Terry
  20. Another Autosleepers owner who is also a railway modeller.

    Mick Bonwick

Like many others I am deeply shocked about the very sad news that Mick Bonwick has passed away. I can’t say I knew him, but I had chatted with him most recently at the 2019 Hornby exhibition at MK. Also watched all the zoom videos he was involved in last year during lockdown. He will be sadly missed by us all RIP
