  1. Hi David Many thanks for information, that’s looks to be what I was looking for. I have also found YouTube video on it as well. I will let you know how I get on with it. Thanks again Terry
  2. Warbonnetuk Thanks for the info, however it seems that although they list Lifecolor they don’t include the rail colour series. Or is it me.. Terry
  3. In the past I have used the Lifecolor range of acyclic paints for weathering stock with limited success. I wish now to use Vallejo Air for future weathering projects which I find a much easier product to use. Can anyone advise which Vallejo Air numbers are the equivalent of the following Lifecolor codes Frame Dirt UA719 Brake Dust UA724 Roof Dirt UA722 Sleeoer Grime UA271 And any other useful equivalents Many Thanks Terry
  4. Oil Drum Lane will be at the 2024 York Easter Weekend exhibition originally booked way before the Covid outbreak. The layout has been in storage and now is being fully tested and a few new scenic items being added. It will also be at its last exhibition at out exhibition at Stafford over the weekend of 28th & 29th September 2024 Not sure at present if I will keep it or even sell it. Anyway a few pictures. Terry
  5. I used the land rover from the above kit for use on the layout Treneglos built by fellow Stafford Railway Circle members.
  6. On a small micro layout I built during covid which is a small sub shed based about the time of the end of steam I have as one of the stock movements one or two loaded coal wagons arrive which are stabled next to the engine shed. (while no one’s looking I remove the coal load) and send the empty wagons away. Looks ok to me Terry
  7. All sorted now, used copper adhesive tape. Thanks
  8. I’m trying to avoid twisting individual wire as suggest if possible.
  9. I wish to add low voltage led lighting to a number of buildings on the layout Any ideas of where I can purchase thin twin wire ? about the size of wire used in wiring sound chips in locomotives Terry
  10. I think Scale model scenery produce a couple of jigs Terry
  11. Did you have permission to have exclusive copyright of all the layouts you photographed ?
  12. Just about getting over yet another great weekend at Warley with my layout Camel Quay. We met some super people on both days, many staying for a chat about the layout (even a very nice chap from Norway who had seen Andy Yorks (BRM) video in a past issue of the digital version of BRM The four of us traveled each day and transported the layout in a couple of cars to save the van hire costs. Have to say both the NEC and Warley personnel were excellent and no issues either Friday on set up or Sunday on packing for home, all went well. Back home for just after 7pm (a record) Already booked the date in my diary for 2024 Well done again to all the Warley members, many I understand which were new to there new exhibition roles. Terry Exhibition Team Stafford Railway Circle.
  13. Although I have sympathy for people trying to purchase advance tickets for Warley and being frustrated when a technical issue or an operator issue causes the system to function incorrectly. Why do people leave it till the last minute to book ? I appreciate that circumstances may influence when you buy your ticket which I fully understand. I hope you all get it sorted, and get your advance ticket before the official cut of time of 16:00 today. Terry
  14. Just drop Tim a email and find out. I ordered a very small bespoke baseboard a couple of months back, I think it was less than three weeks when it arrived. Terry
  15. I know as a club we gave up buying wood from the DIY stores for all the reasons given above. We have used a local business Sandy’s Joinery in Stafford for all the clubs recent projects. We agree the material we need complete with a cutting list, job done Contact Nigel 07399-245433 (Mon to Friday) Terry
  16. If you email Tim with your particular requirements he normally gets back to you in a few days with a quote if he is able to help. The baseboards are first class and all my layouts over the few years use them. A.very satisfied customer Terry
  17. As I live in North Staffordshire I will watch this project with interest, having both walked and cycled the track bed on more than one occasion. I very much like the back story all very plausible. I wish you well with the project. Terry
  18. “The body of the cheapo unit also has a smaller diameter than the Dremel, meaning the cutting discs can be used at right angles to the job” One of the main uses for the Dremel is cutting either code 75 or code 100 Peco track and I find getting a right angled cut difficult due the physical size of the Dremel. I find attaching the Dremel flex-shaft is ideal for this as you are able to get a right angle cut every time. (Thanks to fellow Stafford club member for the loan of the flex-shaft) Added it to my Christmas list the following year and good old Santa obliged. Terry
  19. Made the mistake in the past, your not alone. Thanks for letting us all know it’s sorted. Terry
  20. Dremel for me every time, I have both a battery one and mains one in a Dremel Drill (Christmas Present). Wished I could have afforded one years go. Terry
  21. I know of a local modeller who has a 4mm model of all the A4s unknown to his wife.
  22. I suggest a telephone call to Gaugemaster this morning. I have found them in the past to be extremely helpfull Terry
  23. The red Austin 7 tourer looks superb. Very nearly bought a Austin 7 car way back in the mid 1960s (my first car) ended with a sit up and beg 1954 Ford Pop. Looking forward to seeing the new project progress. Terry
