  3. What would be the recommendation in the Vallejo Air range for Humbrol 62 red brick colour ? Many thanks Terry
  4. There was a trader as I remember at the 2019 Wakefield Model Railway Exhibition who I believe was called Country Scenes and Trees that sold embossed scenic I have not seen the trader post covid
  5. Added a extra layout Rushwick Terry
  6. Hi John Thats another option to consider. Terry
  7. I have recently purchased a laser card kit from MMR models and I’m a little unsure the best way of applying paints. Would it be best to seal the card with a varnish spray or even to use the old method of shellac both of which I have. I wish to adapt the method as used by Geoff Taylor for my brick work of painting with Humbrol No 70 brick red and when totally dry apply Humbrol 121 for the mortar caused, applying it and wipe it of the surface of the bricks. I would prefer to use acrylics if it was possible I would appreciate any any thoughts. Terry
  8. Access by stairs or a lift being available. i understand that the buses from Stafford Station will be starting earlier for the 9.30 opening. All for now Terry
  9. Super model and a great inspiration of what can be achieved in a relatively small space. I personally think it would look even better with a crew in the locomotives and a guard either in the brake van or strategically placed with his shunters pole. Terry
  10. No you’re not weird I understand what you mean. I hate to think what the energy costs would be now should we have kept our original February date. The energy costs both for lighting and heating are not included in the hall hire costs and as I recall back in 2020 were in excess of £2500 So put you’re wellies and heavy coat away. See you in September. Terry
  11. Nick Yes the picture is when we’re at Stafford in the three halls. Now of course we are in the main Bingley Hall and no threat of snow in September. Terry
  12. Hi Nick The locomotives have got bigger (00 to O) and the layouts have got smaller. The first one being a intermodal layout I think, but I can not remember the layout name. Good to see you at DEMU last Saturday Terry
  13. A much better selection of layouts than this year as I felt the 2022 was a bit of a disappointment. I suspect with all that happened over the last two years with Covid, it took some time to get back into the swing. Some super layouts that I had not seen before, and I suspect we may see some of the in BRM as Phil Parker was busy with his camera (didn’t see him eating any cake) Well done to all the team and hopefully I will be along again next year. Terry
  14. A great exhibition and most enjoyable with a good selection of layouts and supporting traders. Good to see many friends from all over the UK Thanks to all who made it possible. Terry
  15. A bit surprised that only there was only one card reader on the door and one on the second hand sales area (which failed late morning) A large percentage of people now carry very little cash with them any more. Hopefully some one has popped out and bought a couple more card readers this afternoon. Terry
  16. I have dabbled in Gn15 for few years having built two exhibitions layouts “Ecclestone Manor & The Works” both now sold. I still have collection Gn15 locomotives (8 from memory) and about 20 or so pieces of rolling stock 8 hand build stub points plus a few unmade kits, Tenodo chassis and many accessories. My dilemma is should I build another layout or sell it all and move on ? Does anyone know if there are Gn15 coach kits available ? Terry
  17. Makes the Stafford Exhibition even better value for money. Free parking for at 2500 cars plus or free travel from Stafford Station on Saturday or Sunday on a preserved bus. Terry
  18. There is a YouTube video available from Coastal Digital which shows you how to dismantle and clean the membrane in the handset. It’s a job I need to do on my own NCE handset. Hope that helps. Terry
  19. You are of course welcome, I could probably find you a job Terry
  20. STAFFORD RAILWAY CIRCLE EXHIBITION 23rd & 24th September - Bingley Hall Stafford County Showground Having had a few days off after our Spring Show last weekend, it was time yesterday’ to sit down with the hall plan to see how it was fitting together. It’s looking really good and with extra layouts, traders and demonstrators there will be even more to see than last year exhibition. With a few more major names such as Peco, WWS and Dapol I really feel we have moved the exhibition on from our offer pre covid. Now using Bingley Hall which is a ideal venue and location, we hope to be able to attract more modellers and enthusiasts from all over the UK This year we have introduced advance tickets which can be bought online through our website www.staffordrailwaycircle.org.uk Hopefully now with the rail strike issues sorted, you will be able to travel by train to Stafford and take advantage of the free courtesy preserved bus service than runs on both the Saturday & Sunday We now have even more free car parking space available. So I hope to see many of you at the largest independent exhibition at the start of new modelling season. I will keep you all posted. Eltel (Terry)

  22. I am well aware of Simons comments and looked in the right places on the net . I have also watched the Simon Kohler interview with BRM on YouTube Terry
  23. Time will tell, there’s rarely smoke without fire. On the occasions I have spoken or dealt with Simon I found him a very helpful and knowledgeable chap. Good luck to hime whatever he decides to do. Being retired certainly does not give you time to count blades of grass. The often used phrase “I don’t know how I found time to work as I’m always busy” is so true. Terry
