  2. Class D49, 62712 "Morayshire"
  3. Morning all from a beautiful sunny Glasgow. Well the weekend has arrived and instead of a normal Saturday Mrs CC and I are off to the Bo' ness steam railway for a mixed traffic gala! Looking forward to some great "foaming" as my eldest son refers to it! lol! Have a great day folks with whatever you get up to! Onwards and Upwards George
  4. Just because a picture shows headcodes doesn't necessarily mean that the item would come like that! Now if the blurb said " comes with headcode numbers fitted" I wouldn't have been in doubt!
  5. No need to speak to Hattons as you've guessed, I've had a lot of feedback not only from here but from others and I'm pleased that all is ok!
  6. Hi guys, sorry not been about much but got a job and have been really busy! I'm a commercial manager for a telecoms/ ICT company! A complete change from what I'm used to and so much to learn, but I'm getting there, slowly! The only downside is the 1.5 hour commute each way every day, however I'm working and that's the main thing! Thanks to you all for your support during the days of rejection after rejection! Anyhoo, enjoy the bank holiday tomorrow folks!
  7. I'll be contacting Hattons on Tuesday, if they have have sold me second hand as new, I won't be happy!
  8. My 14 arrived yesterday, from Hattons, however all vids on YouTube and reviews concerning it seem to say the headcode numbers have to be fitted. Mine came with the codes installed already and no sheet of them was in the box. Do you think I have I been sold a second hand or returned one? I bought it on the basis it was new!
  9. Happy Bank Holiday all! Don't be too hard on yourself Andyram regarding your ATM incident, you're not the only one as I've done it myself although it was £20, hopefully the bank will give it back! My birthday today and with the extra cash donated by friends and family in my cards, Mrs CC are heading out for a nice lunch today, probably to a fab Japanese place we know! First time eating out this year because of the work situation so really looking forward to it! On the work front though, I have an interview tomorrow! Short term contract as a Project Co-ordinator for the Commonwealth games but it's a start! Onwards and Upwards G
  10. Morning all, geez looks like winter is back! Took the dog for her walk and the cold and damp felt like it was creeping into my bones! Going to try and relax today, not stress about job hunting and build a Metcalfe kit although I haven't decided which one! Have a great day with whatever you all get up to! Onwards and Upwards George
  11. Well the wait is over and I got my rejection from Network Rail yesterday afternoon! I emailed asking for my test result and I failed 3 questions on the calculation paper and 1 on the verbal ability paper! I tell you, whoever got through must be a freaking genius particularly on the calculation paper which was pretty tough, not in terms of the questions but in the time limits imposed! I was pretty gutted yesterday because I know I could do the job with my eyes closed as the saying goes and felt it was so unfair that I was being judged on a few minutes of tests, when I have over 28 years unbroken (before redundancy) experience! As Mrs CC said though, I shouldn't take it personally, that it's not a judgement on my ability to do a job but a way of weeding applications and most of all it's their loss! and that's how I'm taking it! Anyhoo, there are more irons in the fire! Onwards and Upwards! Have a good day all! G
  12. Haven't seen fog like this for a while and with the tired commuters shambling through it on their way to the station it looks like the zombie apocalypse has arrived! lol! Have a good one today folks whatever you're up to or what life brings you!
  13. Always liked the name Swadlincote Andy, my uncle and his family lived in Overseal for many years and I spent a number of summer holidays there when I was young and for some reason really got a kick out of your home town's name! Welcome to the ER's! George
  14. Morning, hope it's the start of a good week for you all. As for me another day of job hunting begins and I hope it bears fruit soon! After over a year of dissapointment and savings almost gone I really don't want to have to start claiming jobseekers particularly with the new rules coming in! Still no rejection from Network Rail after my assessments yet so that still looks hopefull and still another 15 jobs or so to hear from too but I can 't rely on that so back to the search! Onwards and Upwards, eh?
  15. Chilling this morn to my two favourites, The Alan Parsons Project and Mike Oldfield! Can't get any better!
  16. Jock, I agree that temps in Scotland not being as hard as people may think! I remember when I first went on a date with Mrs CC who is from New Jersey. We met in New York and went for a carriage ride around Central Park in February! I haven't been as cold as that in my life!! She couldn't understand why I was shivering so much and said but isn't it cold in Scotland? After having been here a good number of years now she understands! lol! Good morning all, have a great Sunday! George P.S. Why doesn't my post count go up. Been stuck at 33 for a while!
  17. Good morning all from a reasonably bright morning here in South Glasgow. The heavy rain of last night has gone and blue skies are poking through the cloud cover so there's hope of a nice day, Mrs CC is off to meet chums for coffee and cake at some point so my youngest and I are being left to our own devices and knowing him it'll be KFC for lunch and an hour or two going round all the bookshops and art stores in the city! His Standard grade exams start on Wednesday so it won't all be fun and games as he'll need to get on with the studying at some point! Hope you all have a great Saturday whatever you get up to!
  18. Dull day here with a threat of rain in the air! Completed my Network Rail Assessments yesterday and have had no word yet which to me is a good thing so here's hoping! Morning was spent doing the weekly grocery shopping and now it's back to the job hunting! Onwards and upwards eh? Have a good Friday everyone and here's to the approaching weekend!
  19. Thanks Jock, for the support! George
  20. Good morning from a very sunny Glasgow, finaly decided to say hello here after a long time lurking! After a year of looking for work (since redundancy after 28 years) I have gotten a little closer by being invited to take two online assessments by Network Rail! Not looking forward to it at all as I failed a similar thing with the Post Office recently! At 48, my brain isn't as quick as it used to be and although I know I got the answers right I was seconds too late for submitting some answers so am really having to psych myself up for these ones! What happened to the days of submitting an application form containing all of your qualifications and experiences and then going for an interview to sell yourself? Anyhoo rant over! lol! Lots to do, have a good day folks!
  21. Great tutorial and pics although I too do not like the addition of the smoke which to me makes a layout less realistic. It is of course my personal choice! I wonder if a poll should be taken within BRM to see if readers are happy with effects!
  22. Not strictly a locomotive but hopefully ok to post!
