I think an implement is supplied. Can't check because I don't remember which box the model is stashed in...

Definitely reminds me of something off Scrapheap Challenge...

Thats not just bollards, its "Waiting For The Bus", an installation in homage to Antony Gormleys "Another Place"...

Certainly a ratty collection. The 2-6-4 standard tank had certainly seen better days and most of the rolling stock wasn't much cop either. Before Hattons closed down, they had a number of "Southern" N2s around a more reasonable £30 mark, seeing as they were repaints. I expect the provenance of the one on offer was somewhat similar...

    MRJ 301

Got Yeti MOTd and serviced yesterday and picked up 301. To get home I have to take a bus, so its a choice of paying £2 for a bus ticket (pre-09:30) or sitting down in the Station Cafe with a mug of coffee (almost £2) and browse through the mag while waiting for time to evolve and I can use my bus pass. Enjoyed mag and coffee. I'll read the mag properly today!
  6. Well apart from the procreative activities, do they ever get out when they want to pee? You've been told before. "Give us a twirl" doesn't mean THAT!
  7. Who appears to have an unhealthy interest in looking up Hippos tutu... Meanwhile the pair on the far left appear to be painting something behind Hippo!
  8. I'm surprised the trains don't have to run at 20mph too, "to reduce emissions"...

Mainly because I don't want to run the smoke generator without any smoke fluid. The loco comes with some Dapol labelled fluid, though I don't know its composition. A couple of drops are administered via dropper through the exhaust.
  10. Looks more like a terrified tortoise!
  11. Can't be any more boggling than a Tapir, and they can accidentially tread on theirs...
  12. Got to get up and go go go. Yeti has to be taken and poked, prodded and certificated for another year on the road. Being an elderly Yeti, I'm quietly worried that this year might be a bit more expensive than usual.... --- Glad to report that Yeti is a happy Yeti. Got a cert for next year, but might need to get a pair of front boots sooner or later.

I think they're actually rated as 240v @ 2.5A, there's something rather similar in the shade of the Anglepoise lamp on my desk, its been there for more than 30 years and hasn't turned into a molten puddle. Yet...

A brief flash, a clap of thunder and you'd probably melt your local distribution system... You'd have a lot of 'splaining to do! If you're still around to do so...
  15. I prefer to call it "Old Yellowing Cream"...
  16. Dug it out. Its not quite as the illustration, its got a plainer headstock and doesn't have writing on the parchment. Found I'd even left my Korg CA-30 Chromatic Tuner in the case. Tuned it and played the mandatory 3 chord trick. Put it back in its case. Apparently I whistle in C# according to the tuner...

Looks like it is. The legend at the bottom of the plug says it all... Rails will sell you a packet of 10 for £10.95 https://railsofsheffield.com/products/Bachmann-36-058-21-pin-decoder-blanking-plate-x10

I was just thinking. I know that stuff classed as retro/vintage is priced accordingly on ebay (L@@K RARE!!!), but £110 would be a bit steep for a 13A bakelite plug... (I've got one of those huge 3 pin round pin ones, definitely retro, must be collectable....)

Definitely madness. A collection of 15 miscellaneous pieces of Trix Twin fibre based track for only 60 quid https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175575976083 But it IS free postage! Same vendor, but a ticket to instant electrocution for a penny less than 110 quid https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175575952488 Again free postage, the bakelite plug and rubber mains cable indicates what you might be letting yourself in for...
  21. Rather akin to this, I suppose.... As the voiceover comments, "One of these landing on you could ruin your day"...
  22. I'd not heard of insulated axles before! I've either used wheels with insulated bushes on one side, or wheels with plastic centres* to provide insulation. * ie just metal rims.
