  1. I think I uploaded this a few years ago but it no longer shows, one of my late dads photos and one of many as he lived near the Lickey incline but one of the more unusual ones
  2. Shouldn’t it have BFB wheels of a similar style to the Bulleid Pacific’s. They look really weird and wrong in the video (side on at 21:11 for instance) and you shouldn’t be able to see through as much when running?
  3. The latest of Model Rail magazine September 23 has photos of the first EP of the Vale of Rheidol locos. They look very promising and the detail exquisite, looks like they’ll be worth the wait
  4. We have purchased G scales items from them several times as the prices are very good and the service has always been excellent. The online shop shows whether items are in stock, we have always ordered in stock items and have always received them within a couple of days
  5. Had a ride out on the bike today to Winslow, been a few months since I’ve been that way and it was a pleasant surprise to find the cycle route 51 near Mursley open again after a couple of years. There are a couple of footpaths over the railway now open too, one near Mursley where the tracks are in a cutting, and the second further west near Swanbourne where the footbridge is open The station at Winslow is progressing. The building seems a little extravagant if it just ends up housing a couple of ticket machines!
  6. A post on Facebook today with photo of decorated sample https://www.facebook.com/krmodels.uk/posts/701305085344437?ref=embed_post
  7. The new listing has a different Ebay user ID. The orginal listing was ‘seangler12’, a sller by the name of Michael Hartley from Blackburn The new listing is the same person using a different ID ‘WEN-I-WER-A-KID’ presumably to get around a block selling it on the original account
  8. I renewed my 009 collectors club membership at the weekend and the new RNAD box van turned up today (great service as ever!) It is the first RNAD wagon I have got so far and it’s a superb model. I’ve taken a couple of photos in case anyone is interested
  9. RevolutioN have announced a model so there is discussion on that thread
  10. I messaged him too, just seems mean to not do the right thing and reunite loco with the rightful owner when they are offering to pay. He seems to be labouring under the misapprehension that the police would be interested and sort it out
  11. Due to some excellent prices I’ve purchased some G scale items from them and made several orders. I’ve had no problem with any of them.
  12. At least reopening of the Bedford Bletchley line is getting closer with the replacement class 150s getting sorted https://www.railadvent.co.uk/2023/06/livery-unveiled-for-bedford-bletchley-replacement-trains.html?fbclid=IwAR1Eob6j01gIiH-_dLQ2HJp5Xpoy3R0dQpSpQe783ZhB90IYoFXcwWhNJmc_aem_th_AWDf-YLQTMrGg_U0lCxk7jBZPBNYmpzK2zF3Kqw-phT5p3o9xWOegVKMZegf2ukY-po
  13. i’m a bit confused how KR are judging people who ask questions on Facebook about whether they are a customer when KR models products are available through retailers as well? Surely it’s not unreasonable to for someone who has ordered through a retailer to ask KR a question direct on Facebook?
  14. A photo my wife took of the new bridge over the A4421 between Bicester and Finmere. The structure which supported the bridge that used to be there can be seen but doesn’t touch or support the new bridge, the new supports are hidden behind the old ones
  15. Visiting the Blaenavon Railway this weekend for the coal trains gala. Staying in Merthyr tonight and wandering out for something to eat and saw these, not a sight you see every day!
  16. Is the 009 RNAD wagon going to be the new free wagon with membership? Just wondering as I need to renew but can’t see the wagon on the collectors club website yet and will hold off if necessary, not really interested in the wagons shown
  17. Brilliant gala this weekend, can’t see it being beaten this year for sheer variety. Have mostly taken video but here are a couple of photos
  18. Very attractive livery and a great companion for Alice This is a direct link that should work : https://shop.bala-lake-railway.co.uk/product/Bachmann-quarry-hunslet-holy-war-with-cab/
  19. Beautiful colour. This is our new toy we got a couple of weeks ago, I might even get to drive it now my daughter has gone back to Uni after the Easter break My daughter passed her test December 2021 soon after her 18th Birthday. Any vaguely interesting car was going to be horrendously expensive to insure so she bought an old Fiesta which was £1500ish for the first years insurance (policy in her name with us parents as named drivers and no black box - that price halved at renewal Dec 2022) Within a few months she was nagging me to buy something interesting she could also drive, in particular hinting about another MX5 as I’ve always been a fan and this is our 5th. What became apparent is that because she has her own car it makes insuring the MX5 with her as a named driver far cheaper. It would obviously be far cheaper for just me and my wife but with our 19 year old daughter a named driver we have insured the MX5 1.8 sport for £500 for 5k miles and it includes roadside recovery etc (a proper big name Insurance company with a reasonable reputation) It’s amazing just what cars we could have insured for a similar price such as the 3 litre Mercedes SLK, Chrysler Crossfire etc even last summer when she’d only passed her test a few months before. MX5 mark 2’s do seem to be gradually edging up in value as a result of the value of mark 1’s increasing. Definitely worth preserving it as best as possible so it doesn’t deteriorate further
  20. Trouble in Luton this morning https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-64151206
  21. Yes, the structure I circled is the wide center span, good to know it's been lifted in now
  22. Our Toyota Corolla hybrid starts its engine straight away in this weather, just as it does every time if you want to increase the cabin temperature from the ambient temperature it's at The advantage of the hybrid is that while the engine is running when I de-ice the car it's charging the battery, so I then use less petrol on the journey because of the increased battery range (whereas in a normal ICE the fuel is just wasted)
  23. Just to add, there is a further section that can be seen on the far right of the first photo above. It looks like it would need to have an additional support put in place first, I think there was a photo a few pages back on the thread showing another concrete pad nearer the existing footbridge ready for another upright
  24. A couple of photos taken at Bletchley station taken yesterday (I took the train up to MK for the Redbull homerun) They are making progress on the footbridge from the new platforms which will connect with the end of the existing
