  1. Yikes! Clicks to remove pre-order! Why oh why! I would of preferred to have waited for the tooling to be fixed than the FGW buffet to be rushed. https://railsofsheffield.com/fgw-mk3-buffet-coach-40752-r4371a-JJJA27259.aspx
  2. Snazzy? Perhaps not - but Ill have two!
  3. Just reporting back what Graham Hubbard said to me. I think the price points of Bachmann items is well discussed elsewhere on the forum. Anymore voters for the poll before I email Bachmann - you never know - if we are nice 31-041 can come pristine and not weathered, allowing anyone who wants it weathered to buy through one of the many weathering outfits!
  4. I would mean modern as 'on the rails today'. David Haarhaus was quoted in the media in saying he wanted Bachmann to offer the units of today. Made me excited! And I think we are starting to see this, but the Collectors Club could offer so so much more to make all types of modellers to join. Especially rare liveries like Wessex Trains 150/2 or GBRf London Underground 66/7
  5. I certainly read your post with interest. I would become a member of the Collector's Club again if there was more modern choices. I can think of a number of items which would not make it as a general run but would be a huge incentive to join again - such as a Wessex Trains 150/2 or a DRS Northern Belle 57/3. Anything as it was a very interesting club to be a member of! I shall look out for modern promised offerings
  6. I can only count up to 12 liveries, am I missing something: ? 7. I spoke with Bachmann over the weekend too, seems we are looking at around £400 for the model. Which I can accept, but not with dirt sprayed over it. Hopefully a few more members shall vote this week, and we can email Bachmann to show there is demand for both to be in pristine condition.
  8. Charlie and Arran, Utterly stunning FGW 143! After picking up from Ally Pally over the weekend, I have done nothing but stare at it since, utterly fantastic and well worth the wait. (And when thinking about it, an utter bargain for the level of detail, the paint job alone should be worth the money) Sorry poor pic, but I am sure readers cannot wait to see!
  9. Spoke to Dapol over the weekend, very friendly and open. The livery samples are due within days to look over, apparently 13 different liveries to approve. The production slot is booked for May and delivery to the UK should if all goes to plan (and the liveries are approved) around June/July. Its certainly going to be worth the wait.
  10. Almost as if Siemens clean them too much! Certainly seems to be consensus that 31-041 would be preferred in pristine condition, allow for weathering to be applied at home or commission one of the weathering outfits. Glad I am not alone. Thanks for the comments and votes all
  11. Fantastic! Only please please please make them in OO gauge too! I have always wanted a rake of Greenenergy TEAs for my GBRf Class 66s. Good luck with the project, maybe if they are a good seller, you would considering OO?
  12. Good point about the underframes, they are the only weathered part of an otherwise immaculate unit. If only the underframe was weathered, as you say it would be easy to re-number or my preference remove the weathered underframe and replace it with a pristine one to have two different numbers. But still, we know the weathering shall not just be the underframe but the usual 'generic waft' ruining a very nice paint job sadly. Hence this poll! Excellent, your both just like me, would only order 31-041 if it was produced pristine, as weathering is bit of a gimmick. Glad I am not alone! The poll is starting to seem we are now in the majority - perhaps if there is a good turnout of the vote - Bachmann might re-consider The good thing about Dapol offering weathered items is that they also do the same numbers in a pristine condition.
  13. Hello all, I am ever so excited that Bachmann have announced they plan to release a South West Trains Class 450, it certainly is most welcome and something I have wanted since the Class 350 was announced. Currently Bachmann have announced two versions: 31-040 as 450073 31-041 as 450127 weathered I am very unsure about the weathered version, SWT/Siemens keep the Class 450 in a pristine condition on the network and I would utterly love to have both versions to make 8 car running. I might be on my own here, but from emailing Bachmann to ask would they reconsider and getting a positive reply that it is something the R&D team shall consider and look into, and then thinking more about it...I thought, I wonder what other modellers would like? Hence a poll, sorry! (But it might just work!) The question is would you like the planned weathered version 31-041 to continue to be so, or would you be more likely to buy a second Class 450 if it was sold in pristine condition. To play to the medium ground, I have also allowed the option where we can have both, 31-041 in pristine condition, but with a batch weathered and released as 31-041A. I look forward to the discussion, and I shall direct Bachmann to the poll to either support my case to them, or to reject it.
  14. I have to say Peter of Britannia Pacific Models is utterly fantastic. I have had him make up a few tampers for myself from Jonathan Buckie's 08-16 Tampers. For the detail and service you receive it is a brilliantly fair price and I am outstandingly chuffed with my Plassers. His coaches, especially the Network Rail range are fantastic too. I hightly recommend anyone considering ordering something from Britannia Pacific to do so!
  15. The Dapol site is now reporting the Class 68 as "waiting a tooling slot". Sounds if things are nicely progressing and I highly suspect anyone attending Alexandra Palace show in a few weeks shall be pleased with the Dapol news on the Class 68. http://Dapol.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=179_298_301_598
  16. I cannot find the news about the 90 on Bachmann's site, do you have a link or can report please?
  17. What potential modern liveries can these Mk2E coaches potentially have in future production runs? I ask as I have done some research and find very few of the liveries we see on Mk2 coaches today are Mk2Es but mainly Mk2Fs. Northern Belle? Riviera Trains variations (ex-Anglia, ex-Virgin, The Great Briton)? Network Rail? DRS? It appears I need to wait for Bachmann, but considering they seem to not like modern liveries, and Hornby do. I just hope I am wrong and some of the above are indeed Mk2E

  19. I saw it on Saturday, one simple word... "Outstanding!" Bring on the Wessex Trains "Visit Bristol"
  20. I was really hoping for an exclusive livery of the soon to be released Class 150s. When was the last modern release? Was it Freightliner 66540 Ruby?
  21. There was a projection display of all the liveries they are producing, whilst watching I was told that the liveries are all approved and we can expect the 73s early in 2015. What was being said out of interest?
  22. Interestingly, I asked the London Transport Museum if they would be doing these, considering the GBRf ones sponcer the museum. They said it was an excellent idea, but due to financial constrains they were watching how the Class 20s sold first. I bough both 20s to help them. Hopefully all sold out now and a lot of us as emailing the museum requesting the Tube 66s, as then they might just commission them!
  23. Yes, Olivia are doing a limited edition 73205. But there is also the main cat. edition from Dapol under code 4D-006-007 which shall be 73206. Great news as the GBRf models run double headed. http://Dapol.co.uk/index.php?route=information/news&news_id=91#.VGOEJda9WpY I understand the order forms have not gone out yet, but Rails say they shall order them at the same price as 001-006. They are listed as pre-order with Kernow tho more expensive. http://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/product/43593/4D006007_Dapol_Class_73_ElectroDiesel_Locomotive_73_206
  24. The Dapol website seems updated on "product information" to confirm this, the status reads "In Decoration Stage" and is due between December 2014 and January 2015. So an early 2015 it would seem, but I cannot wait, looks like it shall be a cracking model. I have both the GBRf ones ordered. Has anyone communicated with Dapol recently with more information?
