  2. These look good. Just ordered two for our Crystal Palace High Level layout. All the best Ray
  3. Hi Matt. Have you seen the Clyde Puffer Gary made for St Mellion ? It was based on a Slipway kit which was vacu-formed plastic converted to a waterline model and substantially enhanced with detailed fittings.
  4. Hi Matt. Happy Easter. Any new inspiration in sarf London ? All the best Ray
  5. I recall that ABS did several versions of the Rectank. The bogies varied according to which railway company built them. Ray
  6. I saw them at Alexandra Palace and they said that they expected delivery of the Leader and DD within the next two months. Ray
  7. Spoke to them and they said delivery expected within the next two months. Ray
  8. Is there a chemist in the house ? All the best Ray
  9. I suspect that Humbrol thinners is not the same formula as Precision. They smell different for a start. I would always use the brand from the maker of the paint. I have been told and believe it to be true that white spirit thins paint by breaking it down. It is not a thinners. A proper thinners is the same solution as the liquid element of the paint in which the pigment is suspended. Don't forget that there were old formula and new formula Humbrol paints and you should not use old formula thinners with new formula paint or vice versa. All the best Ray
  10. I think that Roxey Mouldings do or did a kit for the little steeple cab loco. Ray
  11. I recall that Phil Parker modelled that. All the best Ray
  12. When you say that the paint is not fully dry, did it eventually dry properly ? From experience with Phoenix paints, they can take quite a while to mix properly, maybe twenty minutes or more. Perhaps try mixing the paint again and test it on a piece of primed material and see if the colour changes to that on your wagon. The large tins are the worst, you can end up with arm ache by the time it is fully mixed and dries correctly. All the best Ray
  13. Bill Bedford does/did etched versions of the ones for the cabsides. Not sure if he did the ones that went on the bunkers or tenders which seem to recall on the Bachmann C class were square shaped. All the best Ray
  14. Kit Kat van to go with it ....
  15. Looking forward to a couple of the SE&CR sets. All the best Ray
  16. With all the other Rapido announcements I forgot about these. Have there been any updates ? All the best Ray
  17. Don't suppose they will run these again. I missed the one in the original Wainwright lead finish, but got the special door and Maunsell versions. All the best Ray
  18. Don't forget that the code of the rail on the old steel rail will be coarser that the newer nickel silver. Ray
  19. I recall that back in the 1980's there was a shoe repairers in Jamaica Road, Bermondsey called R Soles !!!! By the way, a shoe maker is a cordwainer. (Reminds me of a character in Round the Horne with a similar activity).
  20. What an excellent range it was. Ray
  21. I wonder if that is the same type of motor that was fitted to the H class. I have three of them and two had to go back to Hornby as the motor was overheating, one of which damaged the loco body. I think that it was due to poor construction of the motor. All the best Ray
  22. Interesting that my observations have not generated any comments. I am sure that if this had been a Hornby model the experts would have been queuing up to tear strips off them. It looks like Dapol have got the black wrong on some of the other versions ? Sounds like the original class 73 livery issues all over again.
  23. Are these available for purchase ? I already have some dumb buffered ones. I need some for my Hawkhurst layout to complete an engineers train. All the best Ray
