    Given the work required to make a Heljan 14 usable on DCC, I consider this model not of merchantable quality.

      Heljan really took on board the task of making their Type 1 models realistic!

      what's the problem, you just need a small decoder. I fitted DCC sound in mine, albeit in the cab LOL

      Mine has never run smoothly either but, in my case, it's not a DCC issue. Seems to be a wheel contact/pick up problem. In spite of new wheelset and pick ups it's never been right.
