    There’s no question in my mind now that the Class 68 is the most awesome sounding diesel since the Deltics.

      The best sounding loco on BR metals at the mo, but for me nothing beats a Peak at full blast! (Though a 50 and 40 come close).

      Irish GM powered locos have had that distinctive aircraft high pitch whine and notching sounds since 1962. Not unlike the 24yo GM 201 class.
