  1. Anyone who has The Blue light card might be interested to know that it works on the Hornby Direct website including the current Sale items. 2. Looking for a few of packs of the C&L 1011 Baseboard end plates for soldering the rail too. If you have any spare drop me a message. https://www.clfinescale.co.uk/product-diagrams C&L no longer produce them.
  3. Cheers 55020 have you anything else showing the sides of the bogies too?
  4. Has anyone got any decent close up photos of 45/0 46 showing the pipes for the steam heat on the bodyside above the bogies in particular. Thanks
  5. Not a waste if anyone wants to buy them. feel free to drop me a message, However given they're crap runners I don't want the hassle of Ebay disputes.
  6. I have a loco that was in Consist with a Non Sound loco, it would run but no sound. I have now done a factory reset but I have sound but it won't run! I have used a SPROG with JMRI Anyone any ideas?
  7. Pity I chuck their wheels and Bogies in the scrap pile, neither any use for EM or P4.
  8. In October 2020 the club I am a member of BTMRS was invited to take Roundtrees Sidings to Eurospoor in Utrecht The Netherlands. As you'll know, a certain Pandemic killed off the chance of that happening. So an invite for 2022 came along, but The Netherlands still had Covid restrictions and a certain B word had come into being. So looking into it for a possible 2024 invite if the Exhibition goes ahead, I have been doing some research on taking a Hire Van on a Ferry to the Netherlands. Firstly the Van hire companies that allow you to take a van out of the UK want another approx £150 for "Paperwork" Secondly you need to do a UK and EU Customs declaration which, so far, I have been told involves applying for an ATA Carnet at the figure of £395 + VAT. So the chances of the Exhibition manager taking anything other than a layout that fits into a Car is near zero if you factor in the costs of the Hotel, Fuel, Van hire, Ferry costs and these added Brexit Charges. So this is to inform anyone who is considering taking a layout out of the UK to display in the EU to do some research before agreeing.

    Jarrow in EM

The time period from Mid 1985 to around 1993 will be modeled. In 1985 the Metro started running to South Shields, the line was single line to a passing loop in the station at Jarrow, the freight similar but went around the back of the Station. A small Yard which handled Steel plate for the nearby ship yards was served by a trip from Tyne Yard. The iconic Grangemouth and Stanlow to Jarrow Oil Tanks will be modeled passing through to the nearby Oil Terminal. Simonside Wagon works was just along the line at Tyne Dock, this was a BR owned C&W facility allowing us to run a trip with various BR owned wagons on. Base boards are Tim Horn flat pack laser cut assembled by us. The Mainlines which are Flat bottom Track all replaced in the early 1980s are being modeled. Using Colin Craig Etches for the Turnouts and the Exactoscale Bases for the Flat bottom Track. We are using Code 82 rail from C&L rather than the correct code 83 from the EMGS, reason being is the code 82 threads along the Sleeper bases without tearing the skin off your fingers that the code 83 does. The Yard behind the Metro station will be Bullhead rail on Plastic sleepers with EMGS Ready built B6s as turnouts to speed things up as club members were getting bored at the time taken to construct the Flat bottom ones. Plus I had lost the will to live after building them. The Metro Station will be shown in the next post once I get the photos.
  10. Our new club layout is starting to take shape. A lot of work for a small group, most of whom have never built a layout never mind track. When I get a chance I will upload some photos here. In the meantime https://m.facebook.com/groups/302993030762947/?tsid=0.3372097268641212&source=result
