  1. Well it's taken me the better part of the evening but I've managed to catch up with the threads I had been following. Love the updates Andy, some really fantastic shots and a great collection too.
  2. Hi all and my apologies for the lack of updates and what not. Life just doesn't like us to get on with it sometimes! Anyway, to restart my thread, I have just painted this excellent MM1 models zza kit. One of a pair to be ran on the layout(s)! What a great kit it is to build too.
  3. Just thought I'd throw a new one up of 60 050 Roseberry Topping, waiting for the road onto the Seal Sands branch heading for the Phillips loop.
  4. Great thread Ade, very enjoyable to read through and the cabin looks superb too.
  5. Thanks Andy, much appreciated. Only another 20 to do but I am going to be building a few kits of TTA tanks before I get round to more weathering.
  6. I've enjoyed catching up on this one, although I see a lot of your updates elsewhere. Great work so far and the track is looking spot on. Can't fault Steve's laser cut kits, they are superb.
  7. Great updates Andy. Just been catching up in this and a few others this morning. Great weathering on the stock too, it really brings it all to life.
  8. I have been renumbering locos, TE famed of course. The Heljan 37 will be 37667 'Wensleydale', closely followed by her twinned beast 668 'Leyburn'. Not much has happened as far as layout, just ironing out the creases so to speak.
  9. Thanks, I used a company called Custom Layout Signs. Great value and excellent workmanship.
  10. I had a go at weathering one of these Dapol HAA MGR hopper wagons today. I'm pretty pleased with how it has turned out really.
  11. Hi Andy, I spent a fair bit of time reading your thread, all 92 pages worth! But it's been well worth it to see the progress and changes from start to where you are now. Great work and great updates. I really enjoyed looking through the thread.
  12. Hi folks, just a check to see if my phone camera uploads photos. I have made a start on the layout, just playing around with where track will sit for now. Excuse the mess folks, now I've made a start, I can produce proper updates as and when possible. Bear with me as I do work away too. Thanks all.
  13. Thanks Ray, that's what I had done. I think in the first instance I had just muddled wires up. All up and running now, I have actually used the extra ports to be able to control each set of lights independently.
  14. Thanks guys, the loco now runs perfectly, although I need to adjust the acceleration CV. Lights! So as is usual, F0 turns the lights on, however both the head and tail lights come on at one end only. Again, I have followed the destructions with the zen decoder. The help is very much appreciated.
  15. The pictures below show the decoder I have chosen. The decoder instructions are very easy to follow. The loco works very well on DC so I'm happy it's not a loco issue. Unfortunately, I broke my decoder tester so I can't check it unless I go to my local shop. Any ideas folks? Much appreciated.
  16. Good evening all, I apologise if this is on the wrong page, however, I have one of the latest release Heljan 0 gauge class 37's and I have attempted to fit a zen buddha decoder. The loco does nothing but short my layout as it is so your help would be greatly appreciated at this stage. I have wired as I understand everything as it says in the decoder guide. Is this one of those Heljan red means black things if you catch my drift?
  17. Mike, the pictures are great, thanks for sharing. Do you mind me using them for reference?
  18. Thanks Mike, great photos and something handy to refer to, if you don't mind of course? Thanks for the comments folks.
  19. Hello all, I have been lurking, posting the odd message here and there for some time now. Having made the irreversible leap from 4mm to 7mm I now find myself at the start of something exciting. Now first of all my era. My favourite railway memories are of the Thornaby triple grey sector traction thumping around the region transferring metals products and various chemicals between works locations, with the odd coal train here and there etc. So this is naturally where I like to focus my attention. The area/the namesake and title idea. Belasis Lane as some may know is a real location and once upon a time was rife with industrial traffic, most of which was ICI works traffic, passing trains for North Tees and Seal Sands and the occasional stored rakes of various stock. So being a Billingham boy, this is my chosen location. However because of the space, it will be a representation of, rather than a carbon copy layout. I have naturally had to use a bit of modellers license within the planning stages to achieve what I want. The layout will see various traction in the form of a few yard gronks, 37's, 31's, 56's, 47's and 20's. You may occasionally see a charter pass Belasis Lane box with something different leading the way. But most of the traffic will be stock for ICI and the various local chemical works in the area. HCN tanks, Ammonia tanks, chlorine tanks and so on. With the space available (the loft) I cannot fit scale trains in, that is just impossible, so trains will arrive and be broken down into the yard ready for the works shunter to take over. I will post pictures as I go and I welcome any comments including constructive criticism in order to reach the goal and bring back some memories of my youth. Thanks for reading folks.

Adrian, this link should work but if not, Ian's layout is on page two of this section, called Falcon Road... Thanks Ian for the input, I had the pleasure of watching your stock at the Redcar show along with a very excitable two year old and his Granddad. Superb layout and very friendly members all to happy to keep the little man happy. I shall be calling 55H once I am home Tuesday.

Thanks Hal and John. Out of curiosity what makes the Lee Marsh model a better buy? Excuse my ignorance here as I am very new to 7mm modelling.

Thanks Hal and Ray, much appreciated and all taken on board. I'd actually be going the whole hog if I get one of these things with my DCC preference I might as well take the sound and smoke unit to go with it. Just wait until swmbo finds out what I won in a raffle!

Thanks Ray and Rich, much appreciated. I am assuming Ray that you mean there is likely or expected to be a price hike at some point? In your opinions then, they are quite reasonably priced?
