  1. Cheers Andi, I couldn't find anything like that, brilliant. Clive.
  2. Just realised I may be able to fit a headlight onto my old style 33 like the newer version, do you guys know of a 3D printed moulding available commercially? Cheers Clive.
  3. Hi, am I am right in thinking putting a 9v Battery across the wheels of a chipped loco to clean them, is a no no? if so, would say clipping crocodile clips onto the rails with wires to two suitable wipers across the wheels be OK? the idea is so you can address the loco sit it in a cradle upside down, power it up and cotton bud away? Cheers Nookie.
  4. Thanks Pete I did just that, the emulsion came out lumpy and thick (it was rough emulsion) the one with small amount of frame dirt came out shinier than I thought and the copydex/water mix with nothing added came out.......just right!! toned down just enough. Thanks for your input Clive.
  5. Thanks for the replies, off to experiment now.
  6. Hi all, track is laid the sleepers and rails sprayed with sleeper grime and just about to ballast with woodlands grey mix but I feel its a little too light and wondered if anyone has pre weathered the pva/copydex & water mix with either a suitable dark emulsion, ink or acrylic paint just to tone it down a bit as I feel airbrushing afterwards would be (for me) a disaster Cheers Clive.
  7. So, just received my pack of 12v double Led platform lamps and about to wire them to my 12v bus, contacted the company and asked whether they are fitted with resistors or not, they couldn't say?? So, when connected to a 9v batt they light but not very bright so assumed they have resistors fitted? (as they would have blown?) wired them up to the 12v bus, nice and bright but they are getting quite 'warm' so now assume they need resistors? ohms law not my strong point! If I wire them (6) in parallel any idea what resistors I should use to get the brightness but not the heat. Cheers
  8. Hi (hopefully) a quick question, new layout from scratch, DCC in 00 preparing to wire the thing up! my question is, I am going to power all my Peco electrofrog points by soldering a drop wire connecting the stock and closure rails (link cut) to my DCC bus....but could I wire them through the frog switch and then onto the DCC bus, killing two birds with one stone, less wiring and tidier? Cheers Clive.
