  1. Lovely pictures again Andy, nice to see the high shots showing the curves off well, and how everything fits together to make a believable scene. Best wishes....
  2. Really starting to come to life now Brian. I think your row of cottages and the stores on the end looks very believable. Enjoyed your whole thread so far... Best Regards
  3. I think the overall effect you show in the first photograph is great. From normal viewing distances I don't think you need to worry too much what about what you can see in a close-up which as you say is quite cruel. It depends on how much you value your sanity as to whether you try and go that extra mile.... Regards
  4. Very effective Andy, I will remember that product. AS you say it will look even better when you do the edges to hide those sharper corners, and narrow the stream in places. Really enjoying your evolution of this layout, and your incredible work rate. All the best...
  5. Hi Jon, Your experimentation with the 3D printed rollers gives good results, and elevates your model further. I did like the photo of your mixed rake of coaches too. (even with the hanging basket liner!!) Best regards...
  6. All coming together well Pete, I like the use of the lego for the platform extension supports. The lifted track and discarded sleepers are a nice touch. All the best.
  7. Hi Jeremy, The trackwork is coming along nicely, and soon enough you will have an amazing station throat for us to admire. Keep up the good work. All the best...
  8. Hi Rob, A lovely layout with lots of great photos explaining how you went about things. Absolutely oozes atmosphere. All the best....
  9. Hi Jon, Found your thread through a link on someone else's layout topic - as I was looking for something to read at work. It has been a thoroughly enjoyable perusal of your work, from the early days with Marlingford up to the present day with Begbrooke. Your work on getting the signals right is commendable - and it looks as if your modelling skills are most definitely improving all the time. As someone else mentioned, the backscene and the embankments work well together - not too much of a contrast between either - so the eye is fooled. Will enjoy reading about further developments - even as an Eastern region follower, and modern image modeller! Best Wishes....
  10. Hi Anthony, I stumbled upon this thread some days ago and have had several enjoyable reading sessions to go through all of it. It can only be described as a labour of love. The scale of what you are doing is immense, but you seem to be methodically working through your plan. I hope that Sydney is treating you well and I wonder how the building construction is proceeding. All the best....
  11. Hi Jim, I agree with you - the steel girder sides seem to extend too far at present. Am enjoying your thread a lot! Regards....
  12. Just enjoyed reading through your layout thread Ian. There is plenty of good stuff to take away as inspiration all the way through. Especially like the SWITCH building with the pallets and loads on the platform. I like the way your signals and points are all controlled from the Prodigy as different routes - maybe it's not as difficult as I imagined. I will have to investigate that on future layouts - for now I've gone down the plain DC controlled points. Wishing you all the best for the Wimborne show - I'm sure the layout will get plenty of admiring glances (and the operators too maybe?)
  13. Congratulations Pete - I will go and get a copy of HM this weekend to see your name in lights. I look forward to seeing your next project develop too, if it's like North Street's quality then we are in for a treat. All the best...
  14. Have just finished reading the entire thread, which was most enjoyable and at times extremely funny. Your modelling is inspirational, and fully deserved to get into print. I look forward to seeing further progress down the line to Chevening. Best Regards.
